How can I solve program faults of A Programmable switch?

Programmable switchWhat should network engineers do if a program fails? See the following content:

After a program-controlled switch is properly activated and in the maintenance and operation phase, it is often faulty due to program running errors. This requires maintenance personnel to promptly handle such faults to ensure smooth communication. The so-called troubleshooting can also be understood as the process of putting the software control program in a normal working state.

When the program Program of the program-controlled switch encounters errors or chaos, it is not necessary for maintenance personnel to study the working principle of the software program as soon as possible, as long as the fault is rectified and the phone is grabbed in time. Using the Restart Method to quickly troubleshoot program faults has become a "panacea" for maintenance personnel ". This is a bit similar to when we operate a computer, when a computer program error occurs and the computer crashes, No matter what command is entered on the keyboard, the computer does not reflect, at this time, the fastest way to recover is to start the computer "hot" or "cold. Similarly, a Programmable switch can also be restarted to handle program faults.

For a program-controlled switch of different standards and models, the procedure for restarting the program may be different from the command parameters, but the function and type of restarting are roughly the same, it is nothing more than restarting the software program or operating the hardware group. The following uses the MDllo Programmable switch as an example to describe how to restart the Programmable switch. 1. Restart the vswitch by operating the RF Command Group.

When a software fault occurs in the MD110 Programmable switch system, if the application program fails to run (mainly because the phone cannot be called or the phone cannot be called in) or the switch enters the cyclic state, we can use the RF series restart command for software program troubleshooting. In this way, no matter where the original application went or whether the program was controlled by the central software or regional software, as long as the RF series were used to restart the Command Group, all software programs that control the operations of a Programmable switch must be switched to the starting position and run from the beginning.

If the software fails due to some temporary factors (such as a transient interference pulse or some transient parity code), then when the program re-runs to the original fault point, as the cause of the original fault no longer exists, the software program can proceed normally and the system will return to normal. Of course, in actual work, the program running fault is caused by a variety of reasons, and the fault process and fault phenomenon are also very complicated, however, using RF command groups to quickly troubleshoot has become a very effective and practical method for maintenance personnel.

The RF series restart Command Group is often used in the maintenance of vswitches. Next we will talk about its classification and use.

(1) classification of RF command groups

The RF command groups in the MD110 programmable telephone switch system are divided into four levels. Level 1 RFPUI is the restart of software program units; Level 2 RFBOI is the restart of a circuit board; Level 3 RFLII is the line interface module LIM restart; level 4 RITEXI indicates a global restart of the switch system.

In the actual work of maintaining the switch, if a software fault (such as a program error or data error) occurs, it is difficult for the system program to continue working, generally, user notices or switch alarm systems automatically display alarm information records. Based on the nature of the alarm information and the prompts for troubleshooting methods, the maintenance personnel can flexibly apply the RF command groups to troubleshoot faults in a timely manner.

Generally, the first and second-level restart commands are used to restart a program, that is, the program runs from the starting point no matter what program segment it runs, if the software fault is temporary, the fault can be quickly ruled out in most cases, and the problem can be resolved.

The principle of using RF series restart commands is from low level to advanced level. If you can use the lower-level restart command to troubleshoot faults, do not use the upper-level restart command, because the higher the restart command, the greater the effect on system communication blocking. When the low-level restart command is used, the problem cannot be solved, and the fault still exists, the upper-level restart command should be used step by step until the fault is finally rectified.

For example, if the user of the switchboard on the 114 server shows that the call lights are flashing, but there is no user call, the switch's answer record contains the 287 alarm. The error 287 indicates that the number of failed PCM links has exceeded the predefined congestion value, and the UNIT of the Program for managing PCM links is GSP, therefore, you only need to restart the program unit GSP to handle this fault. The procedure is as follows:

RFPUI: LIM = 7 (the LIM serial number prompted by the alarm information), UNIT = GSP; (CR)

Result: troubleshooting.

(2) Risks of RF command groups

Generally, the use of RF command groups may cause the following dangers to the switch system:

The restart command RFPUI of the software program unit and the restart command RIBOI of the circuit board are executed for about 3 minutes, which does not affect all users who have entered the call status, it takes about 3 seconds to block a user in the call process.

The execution time of the Line Interface Module LIM restart command rfsag is about 4 minutes, which has no impact on all users who have already entered the LIW call status, it takes about 3 seconds to block a user in the call process.

The switch system restarts the RFEXI command for about 5 minutes. It blocks both the users who are calling and those who are already in the call status. The command takes about 5 seconds.

Summary of troubleshooting of programmable switches:

The RF restart command of the MD110 switch is used for four objects: Program unit, circuit board, line interface module LIM, and global switch. Of course, different types of program-controlled switches have different software design and command formats, and the restart commands of the switch systems they have designed must also be arranged differently, however, its basic structure and classification level should be similar.
