ways to add a header line to a Word document
Word different version, add a header line method is different, especially Word2013, 2010, 2007 and Word2003 have obvious difference, so take them separately, see below how their header line to add it.
First, Word2010 and Word2013 header horizontal how to add
Word2010 and Word2013 Add a header line exactly the same way, so put them together and follow these steps:
1. Quick Steps
Double-click the header area to activate the header → Select all the contents in the header → Select the start tab → Click the border icon → Select the style you like.
2. Detailed steps
1 Double-click the header area to enter the edit status → Select all the contents in the header, as shown in Figure 1:
2 Click the Start tab, click the border icon, and eject the Drop-down menu as shown in Figure 2:
3 Select Bottom border, if you want to set the line color, thickness, select borders and Shading, open the window as shown in Figure 3:
4 You can choose a preferred line style, color and width, "apply to" keep the default "paragraph" on it.
5) Set, click OK, click the "Border" icon again, select "Bottom", the style will be applied.
Word2007 the method of adding a header line is similar to Word2013 and 2010, you can refer to the above steps.

1, double-click the header area to activate the header (or "view → header and Footer") and select the contents of the header, select "format → border and shading", open the window as shown in Figure 4:
2, select "Settings" under "Custom" and like "style", "Apply to" select "paragraph", you can preview on the right.
3, after setting, click OK.
Three, Word2003 header horizontal How to add method two
1. Double-click the header area to activate the header (or "view → header and Footer") and select all the contents in the header, and select the table and border icon in the Common tool, as shown in Figure 5:
2, in the "table and border" small window, you can choose to like the underline, and can set the line color.
