How to eliminate the diversity of switch faults

Internet cafe switches are hardware products and faults are diversified. This requires network management experience. So how should we eliminate some newly-developed or professional network administrators who encounter switch faults in Internet cafes.

Next, I will share my personal experience with the Division for troubleshooting Internet cafe switches:

I. When the internet cafe switch fails, the first signal is that the Internet cafe cannot be connected. Therefore, the client often checks the status. We can check the remote fault one by one based on the client computer> port module> horizontal cable> jumper> switch.

Ii. Do not rush to take the switch apart. First, troubleshoot the problem from the system configuration or system software. If the problem cannot be solved on the software, the hardware is faulty.

For example, if a port is not easy to use, we can first check whether the user's connected port is not in the corresponding VLAN. If the system and configuration possibilities are excluded, then we can suspect that the real problem lies in the hardware fault.

3. If a switch has a fault, identify the switch from various external indicators and check whether the internal components are faulty based on the fault instructions. For example, if the power is green, the power supply is normal. If the power is off, the power supply is unavailable;

LINKLEDs is yellow, indicating that the connection is currently working at 10 Mb/s. Green indicates that the connection is 100 Mb/s. If it is disabled, it indicates that no connection is established. Flashing indicates that the port is manually disabled by the Administrator.

RDPLED indicates redundant power supply; MGMTLED indicates administrator module. You need to identify the multiple faults. no matter whether the fault is located from the outside, you must log on to the switch to determine the specific fault and take corresponding troubleshooting measures.

No matter what kind of failure occurs in the internet cafe switch, the network administrator must know how to solve it, and maintain the fault of the Internet cafe switch. Of course, the knowledge should be accumulated by themselves.
