How to package a PowerPoint2010 slide into a CD or save as a video format

Follow these steps to make a slide show on another computer by creating a CD.

　　important before you copy and distribute your presentation, check your presentation for hidden data and personal information (see Step 8 below), and then decide whether the information is appropriate for inclusion in the copied presentation. Hidden information may include the name of the creator of the presentation, the name of your company, and other confidential information that you may not want outsiders to see. Also check the presentation for objects or hidden slides that are set to an invisible format.

Open the presentation you want to copy, and save the presentation if you are working on a new presentation that has not been saved.

If you want to save your presentation to a CD instead of a local disk drive on the network or computer, insert the CD in the CD drive.

You can copy to a blank recordable CD (CD-R), a blank rewritable CD (CD-RW), or a CD-RW that contains existing content that can be overwritten.

In PowerPoint, if you copy a presentation to a CD, be sure to copy all the files in one action. After you copy the first set of files, you can no longer use PowerPoint to add any other files to the disc. However, you can use Windows Explorer to copy additional files to a CD-R or CD-RW that contains existing files. See Windows Help for more detailed information.

Click the Files tab.

Click Save and send , then package thepresentation as a CD , and then click Package for CD in the right pane.

To select the presentation that you want to copy and the order in which it is played, do the following:

To add a presentation, click Add in the Package for CD dialog box, and then in the Add File dialog box, select the presentation you want to add, and then click Add . Repeat this step for each presentation that you want to add. You can also repeat this step if you want to add other related non-PowerPoint files to the package.

　　Note The currently open presentation is automatically displayed in the files to copy list. The files that are linked to the presentation are automatically included, but they do not appear in the files to copy list.

If you add more than one presentation, the presentations appear on a Web page that allows you to navigate to the contents of the CD in the order listed in the files to copy list in the Package for CD dialog box. To change the order, select a presentation to move, and then click the arrow button to move the presentation up or down in the list.

To remove a presentation or file from the files to copy list, select the presentation or file, and then click Delete .

Click Options , and then under include these files , do one or both of the following:

To ensure that the package includes files that are linked to the presentation, select the linked files check box. The files linked to your presentation can include Microsoft Office Excel worksheets that have links to charts, sound files, movie clips, and other content.

To use an embedded TrueType font, select the embedded TrueType fonts check box.

If your presentation does not currently contain embedded fonts, select the embedded TrueType fonts check box to include these fonts when you package. The embedded TrueType fonts check box applies to all copies of the presentation, including the linked presentation.

If your presentation already contains embedded fonts, PowerPoint automatically sets the presentation to include embedded fonts.

To require other users to provide a password before opening or editing any of the copied presentations, under enhanced security and privacy protection , type the password that you want the user to provide when opening and/or editing the presentation.

In a copy presentation, the password applies to the. pptx,. ppt,. potx,. pot,. ppsx,. pps,. pptm,. PPA,. Ppam,. MHTML, and. mht files converted to. ppt files. If any file you want to copy has a password specified, PowerPoint prompts you to choose whether to keep the previously specified password for those files, or overwrite the old password with the new password. If you choose to overwrite the previously specified password, the copied version of the file will no longer accept the old password. However, the original version will still accept the old password.

To check for hidden data and personal information in your presentation, select the check the presentation for inappropriate information or personal information check box.

Click OK to close the Options dialog box.

Do one of the following:

If you want to copy the presentation to a local disk drive on a network or computer, click Copy to Folder , enter the folder name and location, and then click OK .

If you want to copy the presentation to a CD, click Copy to CD .
