How to solve problems related to long start of sendmail in CentOS

If the host name is not set, the following two problems may occur:

1. When centos is started, sendmail and sm-client will wait for a long time.

2. sendmail Error

Solution: Modify the host name correctly and then restart.

You need to modify either of them:/etc/sysconfig/network or/etc/hosts. It is not enough to modify only one of them.

On the Character interface (centos uses ALT + CTAL + F6), switch to the root user.

/Etc/sysconfig/network
Open the file in any of your favorite editors. There is a line of HOSTNAME = localhost. localdomain (if it is the default), modify localhost. localdomain to your host name.

For example, HOSTNAME = yes81.localdomain

/Etc/hosts
Open the file and there will be a line 127.0.0.1 localhost. localdomain localhost. Here, 127.0.0.1 is the local loop address, and localhost. localdomain is the host name (hostname), that is, what you want to modify. Localhost is the alias of the Host Name (alias). It appears at the Konsole prompt. Modify the second item to your host name. The third item is optional.

I changed it to 127.0.0.1 yes81.localdomain localhost.

After the above two files are modified, they cannot take effect immediately. If it takes effect immediately, you can use hostname your-hostname for temporary modification. It only modifies the host name temporarily and will be restored after the system is restarted. However, the modification of the above two files is permanent, and the new host name will be obtained after the system is restarted.

Finally, check the host name uname-n after restarting.

Restart, basically don't have to wait. Start directly to enter the wait interface.
