Objective
Using the Altium Designer database feature, you can easily link components with the company's schematic library, PCB library, and device parameters to reduce human error, and improve output BOM, statistical price efficiency.
Preparation materials
- Schematic Library
- PBC Library
1. Create Excel
Operation Steps:
1. Create a new Excel as a database
2. Add the first line as follows, where value, library Ref, library path, footprint ref, footprint path four are required parameters specified by Altiumdesigner, other parameters (such as stock code, inventory name, Specifications and models of the latest cost, origin of the brand) are recommended to follow the template, or change according to the actual situation.
Value is the values of the component
Library ref is the package name referenced by the component in the schematic library
Library path is the path to the schematic library
Footprint ref is the package name referenced by the component in the PCB library
Footprint Path is the route of the PCB library
2. Database creation
1. In Altiumdesigner, create a new \ Library \ Database.
2. Select the data type for Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Excel 2007, and load the path of the Excel file that you just created, click Connect.
3. Select the unique index of the component within the database: inventory code.
4, close and save as databaselib.dblib.
3. Effect Demo
1, open databaselib.dblib, in position 1 right-click \ Select Bar, Pop-up dialog box, the need to display the parameters in position 1, moving from the left to the right, click OK.
2. Drag the component into the schematic to view the component properties, such as effects:
3, the output BOM effect is as follows:
Postscript:
This time you are using a local database (Excel or Access), or you can link your company's database. and can link the component datasheet, URL and so on. With SVN, you can version control the schematic library, PCB library, project, and modify the difference comparison before and after, reducing the version flooding.
