1. Build Users and Groups
Groupadd Oinstall
Groupadd dba

2. Download oracle9i and upload to the server
Note To download the special oracle9i version for Itanium chips
Three GZ bags (total 1.42G)
Hp_ia64_server_9.2.0.2.0_disk1.cpio.gz

Hp_ia64_server_9.2.0.2.0_disk3.cpio.gz
Solution Package:
Gzip-d *.gz
CPIO-IDCMV <*.cpio (Note that the command must be a standard input or output)
Three directories will be formed upon completion DISK1,DISK2,DISK3

3. As in the previous way, in the configuration file. Profile (no, can generate files) add the following

Minimum 400MB is required in the/tmp directory. If there is no more than 400MB of space in the/tmp directory, in another file system
Create a/tmp directory, and then set the environment variable temp (used by Oracle) and Tmpdir (by the operating system program

$ mkdir/data3/tmp
Increase in. Profile
temp=/data3/tmp; Export TEMP

4.JDK requires 1.3.1 version (I have jdk1.4.2 installed)


5. Create/var/opt/oracle directory, owned by Oracle account.
After installation, this directory will contain small text files that briefly describe the Oracle software installation and database on the server.
These commands create a directory and give it the appropriate permissions:
$ mkdir/var/opt/oracle
$ chown Oracle:dba/var/opt/oracle
$ chmod 755/var/opt/oracle


6. Through the graphical terminal tool, the installation is still Runinstall

/TMP requires 71M, but only 16M content (in English), I asked system integration to help expand the size of/tmp,
