Located under the root key HKEY_CURRENT_USER:

  Appevent Child key:

  Console subkey:

This mainly involves some DOS window settings, you can change the Registry Editor window to the right key value items, so as to modify the DOS window size, foreground color, background color, cursor size and other parameters.




  Control Panel Subkey:

It contains content related to settings such as desktop, cursor, keyboard, and mouse. Again, many of these subkeys correspond to the contents of the Control Panel. The primary subkeys below it are:

Accessibility: This includes subkeys that correspond to the Accessibility options in Control Panel. There is an "on" in the key value name of some subkeys, when the key value is 0 o'clock, indicating that the setting is not enabled, and when the value is 1 o'clock, this setting is enabled. For example, as shown in the figure below, the ShowSounds subkey, the "on" key value on the right is 0, and the Use Sound display check box under sound in the accessibility options is not selected, and if you change the key value to 1, the check box is selected. The same is true of other subkeys, which record the setup of "accessibility" and read the information directly from the system when it is powered on.

 

    • Appearance: corresponds to display in Control Panel. The scheme subkey below, which is used to set the color scheme, which is represented by a hexadecimal value.

    • Cursors: With mouse in Control Panel, the Pointer tab in the pop-up dialog box corresponds.

    • Desktop: Its key values list the various parts of the desktop and windows, such as window boundaries, headings, icons, menu scrollbars, message box lengths, widths, and fonts. Some of these data are located under Control Panel, show | Appearance tab.

    • Colors: Used to set the color of various items on the desktop, such as icons, menus, and so on. Corresponds to the position in the Control Panel as above.

    • Input method Subkey: Corresponds to "Details" under the Language tab in the Regional and Language Options dialog box in Control Panel.

    • International: The data here can be modified by "date and time" under Control Panel.

    • Keyboard: Corresponds to keyboard under control Panel. Where the keyboarddelay represents the character repeat input speed of the keyboard. The keyboardspeed represents the character repeat input speed for the keyboard.

    • Mouse: Corresponds to mouse under control Panel. Where MouseThreshold1 is used to set the mouse double-click speed. The MouseThreshold2 is used to set the speed of the mouse pointer trajectory movement.
    • POWERCFG: Corresponds to the power scheme in the Power Options dialog box under Control Panel.

  Keyboard Layout subkey:

Used to set the layout of the keyboard, such as the order in which keyboard languages are loaded. It consists of three subkeys:

    • Preload: Sets the order in which keyboard languages are loaded, each of which represents a keyboard language installed in the system.

    • Substitutes: Used to set the alternate keyboard language layout, usually empty.

    • Toggle: Used to select the keyboard language.


Located under the root key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE:

  Software Child key:

Contains information about system software, currently installed applications, and users. Depending on the personal installation software, the subkey contains different content. Many installer uninstall, if not completely removed clean, you will be here to clean up.

  System subkey:

This saves the information used when the system starts up and the information that is used to repair the system when it fails. Includes descriptions and configuration information for each driver, and therefore does not have the same content on computers that are not being used. One of the most important branches is CurrentControlSet, which holds the current driver control set information. Below it, there are two most important branches:

⑴ Control Subkey: Save the settings of each icon program in the controlling panel, you can usually modify it in the control Panel, it is not recommended to modify directly in the registry, because of its complexity and importance, once the modification is incorrect, may cause the panic. The following key subkeys are:

    • FONTASSOC: Store font settings information.

    • NLS subkeys: Sets the Windows language features.

    • Session Manager subkey: The sessions that are used to manage the system, both the data required by the system dialog manager.

    • Mediaresources: Used to set up media resources.

    • Mediaproperties: Set multimedia properties.
    • FileSystem: Set up file systems such as NTFS for Windows.

    • Shutdown: For shutdown settings, including quick shutdown.

    • Keyboard layouts: Primarily for Windows keyboard layout or keyboard language settings. This subkey includes several subkeys about the keyboard language, which are represented by numbers.

    • Update subkey: Determines whether the window in Control Panel is refreshed.

    • TimeZoneInformation: Sets the time zone information.

    • IDCONFIGDB: Used to display configuration data, configuration name, and other information for a hardware configuration file.

    • ComputerName: Sets the computer name.

    • SecurityProviders: Sets the security features of the network vendor.


  Services Subkey: maintains information about Windows service, and its subkeys contain configuration and description information for the corresponding service.

    • RemoteAccess: Holds information about Windows dialing, under which authentication is used to set up authentication information for dial-up networking, networkprovider drivers that are used to set up dial-up networking.

    • Winsock: Stores the Winsock information that is used when the system is connected to the Internet, and the AutoDial subkey below is used to set up autodial, and parameters subkeys are used to set the Winsock parameters.
