Individuals who receive unemployment insurance do not pay for medical insurance

The Notice also stipulates that, in principle, the rate of contribution of unemployed insurance personnel to participate in employee medical insurance shall be determined according to the rate of contribution in the overall planning region; the base of payment may be determined by a certain proportion of the average wage of employees in the overall planning region in the previous year, the minimum value is no less than 60%. The period for which the unemployment insurance agency pays basic medical insurance premiums for the person receiving unemployment insurance premiums is the same as that for the person receiving unemployment insurance premiums.

If a person who receives unemployment insurance premiums stops receiving unemployment insurance premiums due to the circumstances stipulated by law or when the receiving period is full, the unemployment insurance agency will suspend the payment of basic medical insurance premiums for the person who receives the unemployment insurance premiums. The unemployment insurance agency should promptly notify the Medical Insurance Agency and the personnel who receive unemployment insurance premiums about the payment amount and time. Employees who receive unemployment insurance are suspended from participating in employee medical insurance, urban residents' basic medical insurance, or new rural cooperative medical care according to regulations.

The service life of the person who receives unemployment insurance is calculated based on the total life of the person who participates in the medical insurance before the person is unemployed. The person who receives unemployment insurance will enjoy the corresponding hospitalization and outpatient medical insurance treatment as prescribed from the current month. The period of treatment shall be consistent with the period of obtaining unemployment insurance, no longer enjoy the medical subsidy paid by the original unemployment insurance fund.

If the Unemployment Insurance Relationship of the person receiving unemployment insurance is transferred to the home location of the province, district, and city, the relationship between the employee's medical insurance will be transferred along with the execution of the policy of the employee's medical insurance at the place of transfer. The basic medical insurance premiums to be paid should be allocated to the unemployment insurance fund at the place of transfer according to the standard of the place of transfer. In accordance with the relevant local regulations, the local unemployment insurance agency handles the procedures for the staff receiving unemployment insurance premiums. The amount of funds transferred from the unemployment insurance fund of the place of transfer to the employee's medical insurance fee is supplemented by the unemployment insurance fund of the place of transfer, and the excess amount is incorporated into the unemployment insurance fund of the place of transfer.
