Install MySQL management tools in Ubuntu 11.04-graphical interface for remote database management

This document describes how to install a MySQL management tool on Ubuntu 11.04 and connect to a remote host. This article describes most of the operations on the Debian operating system.

Install MySQL Administrator.
First, find the software and run the following command:
Apt-cache search mysql | grep admin
The computer will display the information feedback we are looking for, as shown below

Run the following command to install the SDK:
Sudo apt-get install mysql-admin
We can open the program from "Programming Menu.

How to use MySQL Administrator?
First, we need to create an SSH channel and use the following command format:
Ssh-L 7777: localhost: 3306 root@mysql.server.com
Make sure that you have to set the host address.
You also need to test the link and run the following command:
Netstat-tapn
The following information is displayed:

Active Internet connections (servers and established)
Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State PID/Program name
Tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0: 22 0.0.0.0: * LISTEN 852/sshd
Tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1: 7777 0.0.0.0: * LISTEN 22324/ssh
Tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1: 7777 127.0.0.1: 59683 ESTABLISHED 22324/ssh
Tcp6 0 0: 22: * LISTEN 852/sshd
Tcp6 0 0: 1: 7777: * LISTEN 22324/ssh

As you can see, the local host IP address is ?? 127.0.0.1. The listening port is 7777. In addition, tcp6 does this: 0: 1.
Now we need to use a channel to access the remote database server. Depending on the configuration in the file on your host, it may be your local PC.
