I think my colleagues are very experienced in developing Ubuntu and want to learn about Linux. I have learned about this before, and finally chose centos, without using ubuntu. Of course, this is my personal reason. Re-partitioning the hard disk based on the original system, because the hard disk is divided into 80 GB to install centos. The dual system is finally installed. The only drawback is that there is no wireless NIC Driver. The driver for Linux is very different from that for Windows, especially for Linux users who are new to Linux, they don't even know what the command is. It seems that everything can only rely on luck to find information on the Internet.
1. Run the iwconfig command to check whether the wireless NIC driver has been installed.
[[Email protected] # iwconfig
Lo no wireless extensions.
Wlan0 *****
2. view the wireless network card model.
[[Email protected] ~] # Lspci | grep-I Network
. 0 network controller: RealTek semiconduco., Ltd. rtl8188ce 802.11b/G/n WiFi adapter (Rev 01) // rtl8188ce wireless network card model
3. view the Linux kernel version.
[[Email protected] ~] # Uname-R
2.6.32-431.20.3.el6.x86 _ 64 // The kernel version 2.6.32-431
4. Download the wireless NIC Driver
Http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx? Langid = 1 & pfid = 48 & level = 5 & conn = 4 & prodid = 228 & downtypeid = 3 & getdown = false & downloads = true
Find the driver of the corresponding system and network card model
I downloaded the Linux driver for Kernel 2.6.23 (and earlier) and the installation was not successful. I don't know why.
5. view the file directory
Check whether the rtl8192ce_linux_2.6.0006.0321.2011.tar.gz compressed package exists in the Dir directory.
6. decompress the tar-zxvf rtl8192ce_linux_2.6.0006.0321.2011.tar.gz file.
7. Go to the extracted file directory rtl8192ce_linux_2.6.0006.0321.2011.
8. Execute make & make install;
If not, congratulations, the installation is successful. If an error is reported, continue. I have not installed the driver so smoothly, but there are still a lot of problems.
