Virtual Machine software can be used to simulate several computers on one computer (this computer becomes the host computer). Each computer has its own hardware configuration and can install a separate operating system, it is independent of the host operating system restrictions and complementary interference, so that a computer can "simultaneously" have multiple operating systems and connect these operating systems into a network.

1. InstallationVirtual Machine Settings
On the start page, click Create VM.

Start Installation Steps

If the installation is a CD, select a physical drive. If the installation is an image, select an ISO image and then browse and select it.

Next, you may fail to connect to the device floppy0 when starting the VM. This device is a soft drive, which does not have much effect. You can tick the settings of the soft drive before the connection when the power is turned on. Then, edit the virtual machine settings under the command to remove the drive, and it will not be displayed later.

When the installation process reaches 82%, it stops. In fact, it will take more than 10 minutes. (One solution is to unplug the network cable, enable the VM Nic settings, and tick the connected ones. I have not tried it. I searched the internet)

Restart the system after installation.

2. Set the software source

In ubuntu, "software source" refers to a website that can obtain software. There is a "software repository" on this website, where various software is stored. When you need a software, you can use special tools to automatically download and install it. The newly installed Ubuntu system automatically sets an available software source. If it is set to simplified Chinese during installation, it will be automatically set to the official Chinese software source at a very fast speed. If you do not like the default settings, you can use the following method to change the settings.

1. Choose system> System Management> Software source from the system menu in the upper left corner of the desktop to start the software sources dialog box ..

2. Modify "Download from" to modify your favorite software source (software download website ),.

3. There is no standard answer to a question like "which source is faster. The network conditions of each person are different, and the download speed of different websites varies. Select one and click choose server. After the settings are changed, click Close in the software sources dialog box to close the dialog box. The system prompts whether to update the list of available software ,.

4. Click "reload" to update the list of available software.

Now that you have your favorite software source, you can update the software source information. Maybe you can think of software source changes as dispensable, but this step is necessary, it ensures that your computer knows what kind of software the entire software source has (this quantity is very large) and, if not, some functions may fail to work properly.

3. Install Chinese support

4. Install vmtools
