Installing the RADIUS service under CentOS

This is the work of the need, the main goal is the user must be authenticated through the RADIUS server before the Internet, the products involved include firewalls and RADIUS servers, the logical topology is as follows:

The configuration steps for RADIUS are as follows:

1. Get freeradius,http://freeradius.org/download.html

2. From the official website Activity Freeradius Compressed package, first unzip:

Tar zxvf freeradius-server-2.2.3.tar.gz

3. After decompression, switch to the extracted folder, CD Freeradius-server

4. Three main steps to install the software:

(1)./configure: In this cloth may encounter problems, is about OpenSSL, if not the best error, if the error, install two packages: Yum install OpenSSL and yum install Openssl-devel

(2) Make

(3) Make install

5. Follow the above steps should be able to install the RADIUS server, followed by a firewall linkage, this is not detailed, each vendor's firewall configuration method are different, the idea is similar, the client if want to complete certification, must pass RADIUS authentication, this time, When a PC's packet arrives at the firewall, the firewall sends the authentication information that the client drops to the RADIUS server, which is identified by the RADIUS server for authentication.

6.radius key configuration files for radius.conf and clients.conf

radius.conf: This file records information about the RADIUS service, including the interface that the server listens to, the client IP that allows authentication, etc.

CLIENTS.CONF: Define shared Keys, authentication information, etc. between client and server
