DDN is a digital transmission network that uses digital channels to provide semi-permanent connection circuits and transmits data signals. Through the cross-connection of DDN nodes, a fixed physical channel of digital circuits is provided for users in the network. Whether or not the user is transmitting data, this channel is always exclusive to the user, unless the network administrator deletes this user circuit.

DDN can provide users with 2.4 k, 4.8 k, 9.6 k, 19.2 k, N * 64 (N = 1 ~ 31) and 2048kbps speed of the fully transparent dedicated circuit DDN user terminal can be asynchronous terminal (DTE), computer (PC) or local area network.

It is a data transmission service opened through optical fiber, digital microwave, and * circuits. It uses a digital transmission channel to transmit data signals. It provides a leased line rental circuit for point-to-point and point-to-point transparent transmission of data to transmit data, images, sounds, and other information for users.
