Introduction to VSC 1.0

VSC is a plug-in that NetApp stores on vsphere vcenter 4 and is not a vsphere client plug-in, so it must be installed on vcenter. After installation and then login vcenter, there is a NetApp tab in the Datastore view.

With VSC you can easily access NetApp storage and scan the ESX datastore on NetApp storage, whether it is San or NAS.

Through VSC You can also download tools to facilitate some of the setup optimizations between ESX and NetApp, including important disk partition align diagnostics and repair tools and a repair script for the VM timeout parameters.

The first time you complete the VSC, you need to enter the username and password required to connect to NetApp filer. The storage device is then scanned.
