Samsung

In July 2014 , six companies, including Nest, Samsung and arm, were preparing to launch the new standard thread for wireless networks. This standard will become an important supplement to the existing smart home communication standards. Thread is an IP-based wireless network protocol that is used to connect smart products at home. In addition to nest, Samsung and arm, the other three companies are big-Apple Fans, Freescale and Silicon Labs, and Yale has joined the group.

Currently, the Nest Smart thermostat already supports the thread standard. All future devices that support the thread standard will be labeled "Thread compatible" on the package for consumer use. Like Bluetooth, manufacturers support this technology standard in devices that consumers can use to connect to smart products, and thread may become a key communication protocol for future smart products. Unlike existing network technology standards, thread uses the IPV6 protocol and focuses on reducing battery power consumption

Samsung acquired SmartThings in August 2014 with a purchase price of $200 million, and the acquisition of Smartthins is likely to enhance Samsung's technology, experience and user base in the smart home agreement.

In November 2013, SmartThings received $12.5 million a round of financing, and the valuation was not announced. In common sense, SmartThings's shares will be around 20%, valued at about $75 million, which means that SmartThings's valuations have risen by just 3 times times in the 9 months. SmartThings has sold more than 10,000 sets of kits, about 50,000 devices and 20,000 sets of kits have been booked.

SmartThings is doing the platform at the same time doing its own products, there are three main categories: SmartThings Starter Kit, single equipment, solution package. Starter Kits are priced from $199 to $299 and will provide a variety of sensors, "accessories", and smartthings hubs. A single device includes more than 10 products including smartthings sensors, GE lights, equipment power sockets, Jasco-in-wall lighting dimming switches, kwikset lever latches, and schlage door plugs. The solution distinguishes functionality based on different themes or names, ranging from 59 to nearly $300.

Google

Buy Nest, Nest buy Dropcam, Google buy Nest Price is $3.2 billion, Nest buy Dropcam Price is $500 million.

when Nest was acquired, the technology website Gigaom estimated that the Nest smart thermostat shipped about 1 million in 2013 years. when Dropcam was acquired, there were reports of more than 100 hours of video uploaded through Dropcam per minute, calculated from this data, with an average of 6,000 dropcam at work per moment.

Google June 2015 released the IoT OS Brillo and the dedicated language weave, but Brillo and weave were not explained in detail during the launch. The former developer preview is released in the third quarter, and Weave is officially released in the fourth quarter. Google released last year Android Wear, Android TV and Android Auto to provide software for a variety of electronic products, Brillo is a branch of the Android system, can run on a minimum of 32M of memory devices. The Brillo runs on a router-like device, box, or smart home core device. A more power-saving and simplified OS is also available with Brillo.

Is the Google thread scene map. In the future, smart devices will be connected to the Internet via gateways, and the Brillo system is designed for this gateway system. After the gateway-type device Matures, Google will inevitably launch an RTOS or Noos solution for resource-constrained devices such as sensors.

In the IoT, devices typically only support the IoT protocol COAP (limited Application layer protocol), which requires gateways that support protocol conversions to access the Internet. Routers are the core key. Currently the router market is still heavily used VxWorks OS, and open source OpenWrt system is still not stable enough, so we can predict that in the near future Brillo will subvert the router operating system. The development of functional routers to smart routers will be similar to mobile phones.

Weave is a standard for equipment interoperability, similar to the Ipso (one-machine protocol organization) and the lightweight LWM2M protocol. In addition, we note that weave is based on the JSON data format. The JSON format is a very common format in the Internet, it can be easily integrated into the acquired Firebase, it is also easy to get through with Chrome browser.

Apple

2014 of the Global Developers Conference, Apple and Honeywell, the joint push HomeKit, similar to the hub-like unified system, native integration into IOS, will allow third-party smart home accessories to connect with it.

Microsoft

after 2015 Networking Conference Insteon formed strategic Cooperation, July 30, 2015 Microsoft opened the operating system of the operating system, Windows IoT core, and was able to operate on ATMs, ultrasound devices, and wearable devices. WINDOWS10 IoT Core is a Win10 OS version built for dedicated embedded devices, supporting the Raspberry Pi Pi2 with the Intel Minnowboard Max Development Board. The full version includes a number of improvements compared to the previous preview, including:

WINDOWS10 IoT Core is a Win10 OS version built for dedicated embedded devices, supporting the Raspberry Pi Pi2 with the Intel Minnowboard Max Development Board. The full version includes a number of improvements compared to the previous preview, including:

• Improved support for Python and node. js, including the new Express node. js template;

• The Gpio performance of the Raspberry Pi Pi2 has been increased from the previous 8X to 10X;

• The circuit board and IC have support for analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) and pulse-width modulation (PWM);

• A new UWP generic app API that gives applications simple and orderly management functions such as time zones, network connections, and more.

To help developers get started with Win10 IoT Core, Microsoft has opened up a number of code instances on GitHub.

Based on WIN10 IoT Core development, developers need to install the WIN10 full version of the operating system and the visual Studio 2015 integrated development environment.

Based on the Liteos open source community, Liteos reduces the threshold for smart hardware development from 3 aspects of hardware development, software development, and product deployment.

Make hardware development easier. The Liteos open source community offers chips, modules, and open source hardware boards (2). such as HiSilicon PLC chip HCT3911, media chip 3798m/c, Ipcamera chip hi3516a, as well as LTE-M chip, developers can also choose 3rd party chip, such as STM32. Liteos can run on a variety of smart hardware boards developed by community partners for different applications and domains, and developers can choose freely as needed.

Make software development easier. Liteos provides a complete software stack that includes kernels, middleware components, and open APIs to make software development easier.

Making smart hardware scale-out easier. IoT Smart hardware does not display screens and input devices, and the main issues to be addressed in scale deployment are configuration and networking, such as smart home, highway streetlights, etc.

Open-source community. Liteos code opens the open source community (www.oiotc.cc) of players including chips, modules, open source hardware, creators, and software developers. Open source code is hosted on GitHub (Https://github.com/OIOTC/Liteos). Various players can join the Liteos open source community to build a thriving software ecosystem.

It is understood that at present, Liteos has some application cases. For example, the application of Liteos on the vehicle, based on the elastic core and the unique scheduling mechanism, to meet the high stability and low power consumption requirements; Liteos Intelligent Home Module/device application, through the Heterogeneous Network protocol stack and unified profile, to achieve the interconnection of different home devices The application of Liteos in sports DV, based on unique decentralized loading and dynamic loading technology, to achieve <1s cold start, while meeting the low power consumption requirements, effectively prolong the use of time

launched a 10KB-size operating system designed to connect to Internet devices.
