Large-scale Ethernet applications break through the bottleneck of VLAN Division

During the establishment of a LAN, according to the general specification of Integrated Wiring, the construction should use a network cable with a "meter" or a special "shaped number tube" at the crystal head on both sides ", the computer identification records corresponding to the "meter mark" or "number tube" are also recorded in the cabinet. The number of computers in many units was very small, and some computers were gradually added to form a LAN with a certain scale. However, when the network was originally set up, the Network cables connected to the computer were not identified, or only paper labels such as 1234 and ABCD are added, which are easy to be the same. After a long time, some labels will be blurred, which will cause inconvenience to the network maintenance work in the future. In the process of standardizing the LAN, It is cumbersome to pair the network cable connecting the switch and the computer. The following describes four common matching methods:
1. network cable Tester: this is also a common method for people to unplug all network cables from the vswitch (or Hub) and connect the transmitter of the tester to the network cable at one end of the computer, then, use the acceptor to test the network cable of the vswitch end one by one, locate the end with signal connectivity indication, place the number tube on it, insert the corresponding switch location, and record it to complete the matching of a set of Network cables, then, pair the next network cable. This method is suitable for LAN with a small number of computers.
2. enable the computer one by one: when the network connection is normal, the power indicator and data indicator at the corresponding port position of the Computer NIC will be on. According to this characteristic, we can turn on the computer one by one, and observe where the switch indicator lights up. The network cable on the corresponding port is the one that is connected to the computer that just opened. Some network adapters, as long as the network adapter is connected to the LAN, do not use this method if the light is on or not.
3. "Hot swapping" of the network cable: when the computer is enabled, unplug the network cable connected to the network card, and observe the switch where the light is off, so as to determine the network cable connected to the computer. The principle is the same as method 2. However, hot swapping is harmful to computers.
The above method requires disconnecting the lan. Only two people can work together to complete the process. When the computer and the switch are far away, they must contact each other through walkie talkie and mobile phone. If one person completes the job, the labor intensity is very high. Some important local networks cannot be disconnected at will. Is there a simple way? Of course!
4. Big data copy method: we know that the data indicators of switches and NICs flash fast during data transmission. Based on this feature, we can copy data from a specified computer, check the data indicator of the vswitch to determine the connected computer.
First, use a computer to place it next to a vswitch, and insert a short network cable to the port specified by the vswitch to confirm that the computer can connect to the local area network (assuming the computer name is test and Port 1 of the access switch ), then, check whether each computer in the LAN can access the lan. You can open "Network Neighbor" to see if you can find the computer used for testing: test, at the same time, set a big data folder on the computer to share (such as sharing a C drive ). Place "number tube" on the network cable, and write down the relevant data of the computer, such as the computer location, computer name, IP address, and number of "number tube.
Now you can perform quick pairing. Open "Network Neighbor" on the test computer, double-click a computer, find its shared folder, and copy the big data file to the test computer. then observe the switch data indicator, there should be two indicator lights flashing fast and continuously. One is to connect to Port 1 of computer test, and the other is to connect to the computer where data is copied, place "number tube", write down the Port location, and complete the matching of a group of Network cables.
Open "Network Neighbor" on the test computer, find the shared folder of the other computer, and copy the big data file to determine its port location on the switch. Pairing Network cables in the LAN one by one.
Finally, delete the files copied from the computer test and cancel the shared folder set on the computer in the LAN. Sort computer-related data, the port correspondence between the computer and the switch, and the "number tube" labeling records.
In this way, you do not need to disconnect the LAN, check the computer connection status, and pair the network cable on the switch with a person, which is convenient and fast.
