Add the official maintenance PPA to install the latest version of FCITX
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:fcitx-team/nightly
(If the error, open the/etc/apt/sources.list.d/fcitx-team-nightly-saucy.list, the "main" before the code is modified to correct, such as Ubuntu13.10 (including Linux distributions based on this version such as LinuxMint16) is "saucy". ）
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install FCITX
Log off after installation and re-login.

In Software Manager, search for the components required to install various input methods:
(1) Chinese pinyin: Fcitx-sunpinyin (FCITX Package for sunpinyin Input method engine, Support for double spelling) or Fcitx-googlepinyin or Fcitx-pinyin or Sogou Input method (first confirm that the FCITX IME framework is the latest version and then installFcitx-ui-qimpanel, finally from Sogou official website download install Linux version Sogou Input method).
(2) Simplified Chinese Wubi: Fcitx-table-wubi (Wubi Input method) or fcitx-table-wbpy (wubi Pinyin ime).
(3) Traditional Chinese: Fcitx-table-cangjie.
(4) Universal Input Method Code table: fcitx-table*, such as: Fcitx-table-erbi (two input method).

Set FCITX to default:
LinuxMint the default Input method framework is IBUs, so change the default IME framework to FCITX. Open the terminal, enter "sudo im-config", enter the user password entered after you open the Input Method Configuration dialog window, click "OK", click "Yes" in the next pop-up window, select "Fcitx" in the next window, click "OK". Log off and log back in again.

In general, the system will automatically set the FCITX to boot, otherwise, in "System Setup-power-on and shutdown-autostart" to add FCITX.

If FCITX is not working properly, check in the Software Manager (Mintinstall) If the dependencies of FCITX are fully installed: Dialog,fcitx-bin,Fcitx-config-common,fcitx-config-gtk,fcitx-data,fcitx-frontend-all,fcitx-frontend-gtk2, Fcitx-frontend-gtk3,fcitx-libs,fcitx-module-dbus,fcitx-module-kimpanel,fcitx-module-lua,fcitx-module-x11, Fcitx-modules,fcitx-ui-classic,im-config,libopencc1,libpresage-data,libpresage1,libtinyxml2.6.2,presage. It is also recommended to install the package: fcitx-tools,fcitx-m17n.
