I recently studied the Excel controls. Two types of controls can be inserted during use. One is Form Control (also known as Form Control in earlier versions, and the other is ActiveX control. Form Controls can only be added and used in worksheets (such as form controls, but not in form forms). Form Controls are ActiveX controls ), the ActiveX control can only be used by setting the control format or specifying a macro. It can be used not only in worksheets, but also in user forms, and has many attributes and events, provides more usage methods.
I think most of the two controls have the same functions. For example, you can define macros,A major difference is that form controls can be associated with cells, and operation controls can modify cell values, so they are used for worksheets. ActiveX controls, although powerful and controllable, cannot be associated with cells, therefore, it is used for form.
In Excel 2003, "View-toolbar" has two toolbar "forms" and "control toolbox" (whereas in 2007, "development tools-Insert" is called the Form Control and ActiveX Control), you can add the control to the worksheet. The Form Control is a form control, and the control added through the control toolbox is an ActiveX control. ActiveX controls have more events and methods than form controls. If you only want to edit data, using form controls can reduce the file size and reduce the file storage space, if you need to control other data operations while editing data, ActiveX controls are more flexible than form controls.
