This evaluation was sponsored by Andreas Clementi, the owner of the Austrian website AV comparatives, and finally ranked first in the evaluation by the German G data security software company's anti-virus kit (avk ), microsoft OneCare ranked last among the 17 products. AV comparatives is a website that regularly publishes test results of independent anti-virus software. It is authoritative in this field.
In the test and evaluation conducted in February this year, kementti selected 17 Anti-Virus products, including BitDefender's anti-virus 10 Professional plus, fortinet's forticlient 3.0.308, McAfee's McAfee VirusScan 11.1.124, and Symantec's Norton Antivirus 14.0.0.89. During the test, these products were upgraded to the virus database in April February 2, and the best configuration was adopted. More than 1 million virus samples were used during the test.
The test results show that avk of G data security software killed 99.45% of the viruses and eventually ranked first. The second was trustport antivirus workstation 2.5.0.957, with a virus detection and removal rate of 99.36%; ranking third: AntiVir Personal Edition premium 3.03.01.34, with a virus detection/removal rate of 98.85%; F-Secure Anti-Virus 2007 7.01.128, with a virus detection/removal rate of 97.91%; and Kaspersky's anti-virus software ranking fifth, the virus scan rate is 97.89%.
Among the well-known anti-virus software vendors, Symantec ranks sixth, with a virus detection/removal rate of 96.83%. fortinet ranks tenth, with a virus detection/removal rate of 93.99%. McAfee ranks 14th and a virus detection/removal rate of 91.63%; microsoft is listed in the last position, and the virus detection and removal rate is only 82.40%. He said he was not surprised by the result. He said: "other independent testers have come up with similar results a few months ago. In addition, I have been paying attention to the latest developments of antivirus software vendors every week, so I have long foreseen such a result ."
Among the well-known anti-virus software vendors, Symantec performs very well and its products can reliably detect various forms of viruses. He also said: "generally, I only test products with a virus scan rate above 85%. I thought that Microsoft OneCare could meet this standard, but the result disappointed me. Whether Microsoft OneCare will participate in future tests remains to be further evaluated ." (Martin)
