Microsoft Visual Studio Code basic features

Visual Studio code Its core functionality is also as a code editor. Like other code editors, Vscode takes a common UI and layout, the browser on the left, displays all the files and folders, and on the right you open the edit page of the file.

Vscode is based on files and folders, you can start immediately by opening a file and a folder. In addition to these, Vscode is able to read project files of different frameworks and platform definitions. For example, if you open a folder that contains one or more Package.json,project.json,tsconfig.json, or ASP. NET solutions and project files, Vscode can read these files and use them to provide additional functionality such as code completion.

Open Vscode

You can use Vscode to open files, folders, or items from the command line.
Open a index.html file in the Vscode:

index.html

Open Folder c:\src\Contents:

code c:\src\contents

There is no distinction between opening a folder or opening a project in Vscode. If you open a folder that contains project files, Vscode reads the files and displays the contents of those items in the status bar. In this you can also make a switch between different projects.
Open the items contained in the folder C:src\webapp:

code c:\src\webapp

In other words, opening the folder that contains the project effectively opens the project:

Open the current folder:

code .

Basic layout

Vscode layout is simple, can maximize the editing interface and also can leave enough space to browse the contents of the folder or project. The UI can be divided into four parts

• Editor the most important area to edit files. You can open up to three edit pages.
• The sidebar includes different views, such as when you're working on a project and your browser
• Status bar shows the status of projects and files you are opening

• The View bar lets you switch between different views

  Each time you open the Vscode, it will revert to the last shutdown state. The folder layout is shown below.
  
  Instead of putting the file in a different tab, Vscode can open up to 3 editors at a time.

  Edit Side-by

  You can open up to 3 editors in a single side.
  If you already have an editor open, you can open another editor in a variety of different ways.

• Ctrl opens a file in the browser

• Comman+\ the editor into two
  
  Whenever you open another file, the editor will activate the file you are opening.
