Of course 1080P, and 1080i is interlaced, its bitrate is even less than 720P,

1080p more HD. 1080p refers to progressive scanning, and 1080i is interlaced scanning. 1080i display 30 full screen per second, and 1080p display 60 full screen, progressive scan more stable, smooth, no flicker sense.

　　

The development of digital TV from 1080i to 720p to 1080p
1080i and 720p are the same internationally recognized digital HDTV standards. The original NTSC countries use the 1080i/60hz format, which is the same as the NTSC analog TV field frequency. Some of the original pal countries, such as Europe and China, adopted the 1080i/50hz model, with the same frequency as the PAL analog TV. As for 720p, it vendors have become an optional standard for deeper penetration into the television industry, and are now expanding their presence in the field of CD-ROM-based HDTV players.

In the case of the Japanese digital TV standard, according to the different display formats, the following 5 kinds of specifications are divided into:

d1:480i format, same as NTSC analog TV, with a line frequency of 15.25kHz

d2:480p format, same as progressive scan DVD, with a line frequency of 31.5kHz

d3:1080i format with a resolution of 1920x1080i/60hz and a line frequency of 33.75kHz

d4:720p format with a resolution of 1280x720p/60hz and a line frequency of 45kHz

d5:1080p format, 1920x1080 progressive Scan, professional format

The D3 1080i is used as the basic format of HDTV, but it is also compatible with 720p format playback. and the D5 specification of 1080p as a high-level professional model, widely used in television, film production. The 1080i and 720p TV signals sent by the television stations are converted by 1080p signal sources.

As can be seen, 1080p is a fact of the standard, but 1080p is not currently used in the civil field standards. 1080p is not only a kind of 60Hz field frequency, in fact, the most real application is 24Hz, 25Hz, 30Hz three kinds of field frequency specifications. We know that the film is played in the form of 24 images per second. Digital images taken in 1080p/24hz mode can be transmitted without loss to digital movie projectors such as Dlp/d-ila, which are played in movie format. 1080p/24hz is a format prepared for the film.
If high-definition content is captured in the 1080p/25hz format, it is easy to split the full 1080p image of each frame into a two-frame interlaced 1080i image. In this way, the 1080p/25hz format becomes the 1080i/50hz image, which facilitates the use of digital HDTV in the former PAL countries of Europe and China.

Similarly, the 1080p/30hz can be easily converted to 1080i/60hz images after shooting, convenient for use in the United States ATS and Japan ISDB and other original NTSC analog TV countries.

1080p conversion to 720p image is more simple, only need to remove a row in every three pixels, one column per three pixels, 1080p of two-thirds is exactly 720p.
