In the online world, there are thousands of weather events, so we also need to know some basic network settings for a large number of network devices. Here we will open the door to wireless LAN and introduce it.

I believe you will not be familiar with setting lan network parameters. Is the network parameter settings of popular Wireless LAN the same as the previous settings? In fact, wireless LAN is not very mysterious, and its parameter settings are largely similar to the previous settings; the following content describes in detail how to set network parameters for a wireless LAN in various operating systems.

Wireless LAN Settings A. Preparations

Before setting network parameters, you should correctly install the wireless network card on each computer that requires information transmission, and adjust the distance between the computer and the computer, and place the location of the computer to avoid affecting normal signal transmission. Then, configure the network parameters as follows.

Wireless LAN Settings B. System Operation 1

1. Windows 98, Windows Me, and Windows 2000

Because Windows 98, Windows Me, and Windows 2000 do not have relevant components to support the use of wireless networks, before you set network parameters, you must use a dedicated wireless network management and configuration program to set network parameters. Currently, many wireless network adapters are randomly attached with the Client Manager program, install the program in the corresponding operating system according to the general method, and then perform the following setting steps:

1. on Windows 98, Windows Me, or Windows 2000 desktop, click the Start menu and execute the "program", "Wireless", and "Client Manager" commands in sequence, open the setting page titled "Wireless Client Manager;

2. move the cursor to the menu bar on the settings page, click the "operation" menu item, and execute the "add" command from the drop-down menu that will be opened later, then select the "Edit Configuration Overview" option from the lower menu that appears, so that a "select overview" Setting dialog box is displayed;

3. In this setting box, you can click the "edit" button. The system will then open a dialog box titled "Edit configuration; if you do not want to use the default configuration name, you can click "add" in the "select overview" Setting Dialog Box to recreate a wireless network configuration name;

4. If you want the computer to be used in different LAN networks, you can use the "add" function to create multiple configuration files, then, you only need to select the configuration name related to the corresponding LAN to quickly set wireless network parameters related to the corresponding LAN;

5. In the "Edit configuration" dialog box, click the "Network Type" drop-down button and select the "peer-to-peer Working Group" option from the displayed drop-down list, click "Next" on the page with the mouse;

6. The "network identification" setting interface will appear on the screen. In this interface, you can click the "scan" button, in this way, the Client Manager program can automatically scan the peer-to-peer wireless network that can be used in the current computer system and display the results correctly;

7. On the search results page, select the searched wireless network with the mouse, and click "OK" on the search page to exit the search results page, return to a large number of "network identification" Settings, and click "Next;

8. In this way, you will see a dialog box titled "Set security". Here, you can select the "enable data security" check box to encrypt data during data transmission, ensure the communication security of the wireless network. In the "key" setting bar, enter the key to be set. However, if you do not transmit important file information, you may not select this check box to encrypt the information. If the encrypted transmission of information is not performed, information transmission will occupy a relatively small amount of computer system resources;

9. After setting security parameters, click "Next" in the interface to open a "Power Management" Setting dialog box. If you are using a laptop, you can use the mouse to select the "open" option to enable the power management function to reduce power consumption. However, once the power management function is enabled, the wireless transmission performance of the LAN will be reduced, and the information transmission rate and distance requirements will be reduced;

10. If the power management function is disabled, although information transmission will consume a lot of power, the wireless transmission performance of the network will be guaranteed, especially the information transmission rate will reach a very high standard, in addition, the transmission distance can be a little farther;

11. After configuring the power management function, click "Next" to open the "TCP/IP behavior" Setting dialog box, here, you can use the mouse to select the "Update IP address when selecting this introduction" option, so that when a computer moves from one network to another, you can automatically update the IP address;

12. Click the "finish" button on the settings page to complete the setting of LAN wireless network parameters.

After network parameters are set, you can transmit information to each other in the LAN. The signal may be unstable during transmission, at this time, you should adjust the distance and location between the computer and the computer. If the connection is unstable, it is likely that the quality of the wireless network card is poor, try again.

Wireless LAN Settings 2. in Windows XP

In comparison, setting wireless network parameters in Windows XP is easier. After all, Windows XP provides users with good support for wireless networks, you can directly set network parameters in the "Network Connection" window, without the need to install additional wireless network management and configuration software. The following describes how to set parameters:

1. on the Windows XP system desktop, click "start", "set", and "Control Panel" commands to open the control panel window, and double-click the Network icon, open the "Network Connection" interface;

2. on this page, right-click the "wireless network connection" icon and execute the "properties" command from the shortcut menu that will be opened later, in this way, the "Wireless Network Connection Properties" Setting dialog box is automatically displayed;

3. Here, you can select the "wireless network configuration" tab with the mouse, and on the tab page that will pop up later, select "use Windows to configure my wireless network configuration" with the mouse to enable automatic wireless network configuration;

4. Click the "advanced" button to open the "advanced" Setting dialog box, and select the "computer-only (specific)" option in the dialog box, in this way, computers are connected to each other;

5. If you want to connect directly to your computer and retain the access point, you can select "any available network (preferred access point)" with your mouse;

6. If a network is available in the preferred access point wireless network, the system will first try to connect to the access point wireless network. If the Access Point Network in the current system is unavailable, then the system will automatically try to connect to the peer-to-peer wireless network;

7. For example, when a laptop is used in a wireless network at work and then moved to another computer for use in a computer network, the automatic wireless network configuration function will automatically change the wireless network parameter settings as needed. You can directly connect to the home network without any changes;

8. After completing the preceding settings, click the "close" button to exit the settings page and click "OK" to complete the wireless connection setting for the wireless LAN, if the parameter is set correctly, the system will automatically prompt that the wireless network connection is successful.
