Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003 has an improved authoring environment, new graphics capabilities, powerful coding tools (to help you apply and add a variety of coding language knowledge), and tools to help you create interactive scripts. In addition, FrontPage 2003 can generate efficient and clean HTML, allowing you to better control your code.

　　Web Page view

You can work with Web pages in any of the following page views:

Design view designs and edits Web pages in Design view. This view provides the same "WYSIWYG" authoring experience as you would create a Web page with a design tool.

Code view to view, write, and edit HTML edits yourself. Using the optimized code features in FrontPage 2003, you can create clean HTML and make it easier to delete any unwanted code.

Split view checks and edits Web page content in a split screen format that allows you to access both Code view and Design view.

The preview view displays a similar view of the page in a Web browser without saving the page. Use this view to view the changes that were made when you created the Web page.

　　Graphics tools

Improved graphics support

Make it easier to work with graphics from other programs. The new interface clearly explains the default behavior when you import images into a Web site, and what happens when you edit those images. This allows you to better control how the image is displayed and saved.

Multiple editor configuration

You can select different editors for different types of content. For example, if you have many GIF format files, some of which are photos, and some are charts, you can edit photos in Adobe PhotoShop and work with charts in Microsoft Office Visio 2003.

Macromedia Flash Support

To enhance and update FrontPage Web sites, you can now add Macromedia Flash content, including movies, repetitive animations that enhance audio capabilities, and previously recorded presentations or courses. You can set AutoPlay options, such as playing a short animation when a site visitor first loads a page, or looping the content continuously.

　　Scripting and Coding Tools

Behavior

Behavior is a scripting option that you can use to quickly add interactivity or enhancements to text or other elements in a Web page. For example, you can add behavior to an image so that when a site visitor moves the pointer over the image, you can change the display of the image. You can also view and edit the scripts that are associated with the current page by looking at the list in the Behaviors task pane.

Interactive Buttons

You can add such a button to a Web page by selecting a professional-looking button from the list. When a button is selected, you can add button text, select Font and button colors, define links, and set image and text settings for the original, hover, and pressed states.

Quick Tag Tool

Use the Quick Tag Selector to quickly select any tag in a Web page. Use the Quick Tag Editor to insert, accommodate, and edit HTML tags.

Intelligent perception

FrontPage 2003 now provides IntelliSense technology in Code view to reduce errors in your code. IntelliSense includes statement completion and displays the parameters available for the code you are writing, similar to the techniques used in Microsoft Visual Studio. IntelliSense can be used in the following environments: HTML, cascading Style sheets (CSS), Extensible Stylesheet Language (XSL), ECMAScript defined by the European Computer Association specification (for example, JScript or JavaScript), Microsoft Visual Basic Scripting Edition (VBScript) and asp.net.

Type Help

FrontPage 2003 provides a number of help tools to speed code writing, including automatic line wrapping, line numbering, automatic indentation, tag completion, bookmarks, and advanced code options.

Code Snippets

In FrontPage, a code snippet is one or more lines of HTML or other code that can be saved and reused. You can save blocks of code and insert them from code Genku into a Web page. Code snippets can contain any code-html, CSS, and so on that can be inserted into the Code view.

ASP.net is a set of technologies in the Microsoft. NET Framework for developing web programs and XML Web services. With FrontPage 2003, you can now preview, reposition, and resize the asp.net control. IntelliSense support for scripts can help you connect, modify ASP.net intrinsic controls, or create new asp.net intrinsic controls.
