Notes on nasbits general trend

Today, I happened to read a best-selling book in 1982, an American futuristic scientist, John Nesbit.
Naisbitt)'s megatrends: ten new
Directions transforming our lives ).
This book was really red. It is said that the world has sold 14 million books, and the author nesbits has become the authority that no one knows how to predict the future. This book is also a sensation in China. It has been made into many versions and is a popular reader in the knowledge field in 1980s.
Its core point of view is: the United States is entering the information society.
This sentence seems to be commonplace now, but it was amazing to say so 25 years ago. You know, don't talk about the Internet at that time, and even your PC is not in the family. If I remember correctly, Apple
II, an epoch PC model, was launched in 1984.
1/4 century ago, this book predicted the future; 1/4 century later, this book became an entry-level book to understand the times. I was shocked by a lot of the content, which is still enlightening today.
Below are some of my excerpts. I recommend this book to you.
================================
1.
From farmers to workers to employees, this is a brief history of the United States.
2.
In the industrial society, strategic resources are capital. In the information society, strategic resources are information.
3.
The transitional period of economic transformation is the most vigorous period of entrepreneurship.
4.
We now produce a large amount of information, just as we used to produce a large number of cars. This kind of knowledge is the driving force of our economy and society.
5.
The new source of power is not money in the hands of a few people, but information in the hands of most people.
6.
Knowledge is not applicable to conservation law. Knowledge can be created and destroyed. The most important thing is that it has a cooperative enhancement function, that is, the overall value is greater than the sum of parts.
7.
Information can be regenerated and generated.
8.
In the agricultural society, people are used to looking at the past and relying on past experiences. In the industrial society, people pay more attention to the present. In the information society, we must focus on the future.
9.
Like the Beaver, they enter the stream and block the river.
10.
We are overwhelmed by information, but eager for knowledge.
11.
The information processing industry provides an intermediary, not the information itself.
12.
In the future, readers will not accept what they want to see but tell editors what they want to see.
13.
The new information technology is first used to solve problems in the old industry, and then to develop new methods of use.
14.
In the information society, we need more basic read and write skills than before.
15.
In the computer age, we are dealing with electronic-related conceptual spaces, rather than automotive-related physical spaces.
16.
The more high technology we have in our society, the more we want to create a high emotional environment and use the soft side of technology to balance the hard side.
This means that soft tones and light colors become very popular. Folk Art happens to be balanced with the computer society. It's no wonder that the work done by hand is so popular.
17.
In a rapidly changing world, security cannot be maintained for a long time.
18.
In a high-tech information society, we use mental power rather than physical power as the workers in the industrial age. Therefore, during our spare time activities, more hands and bodies are needed to balance the constant use of mental power at work.
19.
To succeed, you must understand three languages: fluent English, a foreign language, and a computer language.
20.
There are many companies in this country waiting for climate change like dinosaurs. The climate will not change back to the past. The earth under our feet is moving. The only thing we need to do now is to rethink our roles. Nothing else can help.
21.
The concept of lifelong education has replaced the idea of short-term education. Many large companies are considering offering their employees a lifelong career.
22.
If a person's knowledge is too professional, after a while, he may find that his major is outdated. If a person has a wide range of knowledge, with the cooperation of lifelong education, his major can change with the changes of the times.
23.
Skills that can make long-term predictions will be paid more and more attention.
24.
Leaders are created by followers.
25.
In the past, we first found a mass team and then stood in front of them for leadership. Today, the masses are getting smaller and smaller. Of course, the number of types has increased.
26.
Today, national political parties only have their names in vain. There are 535 political parties on the hill of Congress.
27.
The new type of leader is a promoter, rather than a postmaster.
28.
The level system still exists, but people's confidence in it has vanished.
29.
The Hierarchy cannot solve all kinds of social problems, which forces people to talk to each other, and this is the beginning of network organizations.
30.
Network organizations are a powerful tool for social action. People who are interested in changing the world start to work locally, and like-minded people naturally gather together.
31.
Network organizations can provide what a level system will never provide-horizontal connections.
32.
The most important thing in a network organization is that everyone is the center.
33.
Unless we establish a belief that the person who is doing the job is an expert, we will always be bound to this person.
34.
In the future, every organization will become smaller and smaller, and there will be more and more entrepreneurial and participating enterprises.
35.
The hierarchy forces people to climb up, while the network organization gives power to others.
36.
The basic unit of society is changing from family to individual.
37.
Most innovations in the United States appear in five states: California, Florida, Washington, Colorado, and Connecticut.
