Since Oracle no longer provides downloads for oracle_10201_database_lin_ppc.cpio.gz packages, this is a personal sharing package

Colleague on open Power + red Flag Linux wants to install an Oracle client for synchronizing data with Gbase 8t, but it is not successful, the following is the information collected previously for reference only
Original address: Install Oracle 10gr2 on SuSE Linux ten SP3 on IBM PPC seafolk
A colleague's friend wrapped up a project, used a small machine but didn't buy an AIX operating system, and was fortunate enough to experience an Oracle installation on PPC Linux.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1.OS Installation
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server SP3 for PPC (KERNEL:2.6.16.60-0.54.5-PPC64)
Note: In order to install database convenience and system monitoring, Orarun and Sysstat packages can also be installed.
After the operating system installation is complete, you can confirm that the following RPM packages are already on the system, but the version is higher than the listed:
glibc
glibc-devel-2.4-31.2 (PPC)
glibc-devel-64bit-2.4-31.2 (PPC)
Asynchronous IO Support:
libaio-64bit-0.3.104-14.2 (PPC)
libaio-devel-64bit-0.3.104-14.2 (PPC)
libaio-0.3.104-14.2 (PPC)
libaio-devel-0.3.104-14.2 (PPC)
Utilities:
binutils-2.16.91.0.5-23.4 (PPC)
sysstat-6.0.2-16.4 (PPC)
make-3.80-202.2 (PPC)
2.Setup IBM xic/c++ Runtime Environment
The IBM xic/c++ runtime environment must be installed, or the error prompt window will pop up when the installation is in the 87%,link phase:
Error in invoking target ' client_sharedlib ' of makefile '/opt/app/oracle/10.2.0/network/lib/ins_net_client.mk '. See '/opt/app/oracle/orainventory/logs/installactions2009-03-11_04-31-29pm.log ' for details.
Downloading the IBM xlc/c++ compiler runtime from the IBM Web site requires downloading the Vacpp.rte and Vac.lib, which
Vacpp.rte.90.sles10.nov2008.update.tar.gz
Addons.9.0.0.sles10.tar.gz
Link Address: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24021717
When the download package is uploaded to the server, it will have multiple RPM packages installed with the following command (root user):
# RPM-IVH *.rpm
Add/opt/ibmcmp/lib64 and/opt/ibmcmp/lib to the/etc/ld.so.conf file after installation
That
#echo "/opt/ibmcmp/lib64" >>/etc/ld.so.conf
#echo "/opt/ibmcmp/lib" >>/etc/ld.so.conf
Then execute the ldconfig command
#ldconfig
Important step, oracle10g's link program is still looking for the 7.0 runtime environment.
3.Setup IBM JDK (This step can be skip)
If you need to use Oracle JDBC, you need to install the IBM Java SDK, downloaded from the IBM Web site, with the supported versions:
• IBM Java 1.4.2 64-bit (sr1a) or update
• IBM Java 1.4.2 32-bit (sr1a) or update
• IBM Java 1.3.1 32-bit (SR8) or update (for SLES 9)
IBM jdk:http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/java/jdk/linux/download.html
4.Download database Software
Download Oracle 10GR2 for Linux on POWER from the Oracle website with the download file name 10201_database_lin_ppc.cpio.gz.
Link Address: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/10201ppclinuxsoft-096034.html
5.Install Database
When the Orarun package is installed, a user named Oracle is automatically established, and the OINSTALL,DBA user group is created.
We only need to set the user to enable, edit/etc/passwd, and change the shell from/bin/false to/bin/bash.
As shown below:
Oracle:x:103:106:oracle User:/home/oracle:/bin/false
Switch
Oracle:x:103:106:oracle User:/home/oracle:/bin/bash
The Orarun package will automatically generate the Oracle_home folder, which is/opt/oracle by default and should be changed to/home/oracle, which can be done via the YaST graphical interface.
If the Orarun package is not installed, it is manually created in the traditional way.
OK, unzip the database installation package, start the installation, skip the process ...:)
