P-associated-uri header Field

P-associated-uri header domain extension allows a registration to return a set of URIs associated with registered AOR. We define the P-associated-uri header field and use that field in the $ OK response of the REGISTER request.

The P-associated-uri field transmits a set of URIs associated with the registered AOR.

The URI that the service provider has assigned to a user-specific is called an associated URI. Registrar allow inclusion

Information about a AOR associated with 0 or more URIs. Typically, all of these URIs (AOR URIs and associated URIs) have been assigned a good purpose for a particular user. This SIP-specific extension allows UAC to know which service provider's URIs are associated to AOR after a successful authorization registration.

Note that in general, Registrar does not register the associated URIs for the user. Only AOR that appear in the To header section of the Register method can be registered and bound to the contact address. The only information conveyed here is that Registrar knows that the other URIs will be used by the same user.

An Application server (even registrar itself) is likely to register an associated URIs with a third-party registration for the user. This article does not discuss third-party registrations. A UAC cannot assume that the associated URIs is already registered. If a UAC wants to detect whether an association URIs is registered, it can be done through a mechanism described outside the document, for example, the UA can send a REGISTER request and fill in the To field with the expected associated URI without Contac T field. The $ OK response will contain a contact header with a list of registered contacts. If the associated URI is not registered, the UA can be registered before use.

P-associated-uri Statement of application of the head

The P-associated-uri header is intended for SIP providers to provide users with a set of SIP networks in which the UA generates a request-declared identifier (in the From header field). Further, it assumes that the vendor knows that the user can reasonably declare the entire identity set and that the user expects to restrict certain identities. In relation to this, the From field in a normal SIP usage is only the field indicated by the end user.

Usage of P-associated-uri Head

Registrar inserts the P-associated-uri header field into the $ OK response of the REGISTER request. The value of the header field is filled in with a list of 0 or more URIs associated with AOR.

If the registrar supports the P-associated-uri header extension, registrar must always insert P-associated-uri into the response of the register request, regardless of whether Regester is the initial registration, re-registering , or logout and whether there are 0 or more URIs
