Pgadmin Fast Backup RESTORE Database __ Database

Preface

Accustomed to the oracle of the Plsqldev, feel pgadmin This tool is too difficult to use, decisively changed navicat for Postgres, indeed much better, but the backup to restore the database across multiple connections is not very useful, it may be that I will not use, So switch to Pgadmin for the backup and restore of the library across the connection, so said Pgadmin can not be said to be worthless, at least in this respect I think more convenient than the navigation cat, nonsense not to say, a simple record.

Backup

Open Pgadmin, as shown in the following illustration, we have two connections, such as I need to back up the ZHSZDB library in the Hank (192.168.0.69) connection to my local localhost, only the following steps are required:

1. Right-zhszdb on the remote server, click the "Backup" button,

2. Enter the save address of the backup file in the pop-up window, and click the Backup button,

3. When you see the information in the image below, the backup is complete, click the "Finish" button to end the backup,

We can see our backup files in the specified path, so that the backup ends up the same as the Oracle backup implementation

(exp username/password@dbname file=x:/xx/xx/xx.dmp),

Restore (Restore)

Recovery is simpler, first you need to build a database under our localhost connection, just enter the database name and click Create, then only need the following steps:

1. Right-click on the newly created empty database zhszdb, the "Restore" button,

2. In the pop-up window select the previous backup file saved address, and click the "Restore" button,

Observe that log does not detect any warnings and errors, and successfully displays the clickable "Finish" button, indicating that the backup was successful, that the local connection was refreshed after clicking the "Finish" button, and that all database objects and data have been successfully imported. Recall Oracle's Import command by the way:

(Imp username/password@dbname file=x:/xx/xx/xxx.dmp full=y)

Summary

Simply record the steps to backup and restore the database in Pgadmin, very simple, the end.
