I. Position of the north-south bridge chip on the motherboard

Ii. Functions of the north-south bridge chip

Beiqiao chip is mainly responsible for processing traffic between CPU, memory and video card. In addition, he is responsible for communicating with nanqiao chip. Supports SA/PC, AGP slots, and ECC error correction. In general, beiqiao chip is used to control the memory.

Nanqiao chip is responsible for data flow between hard disks and other storage devices and PCI. South Bridge and North Bridge synthesis chipset. The chipset largely determines the functions and performance of the motherboard. The functions of nanqiao include disk controller, audio synthesis, large network controller, and I/O interface, allowing devices to work smoothly. In general, it is used to control input and output.

 

Jumper name and function:

Power SW: A power switch that controls the computer. Generally, it is a two-pin switch with no positive or negative values.

Reset SW: restart switch, control the computer to restart, no positive.

HDD led: The hardware only works as a lamp. It displays the working status of the hard disk. There are positive and negative values, but the light is not on.

Power led: indicates whether the computer is powered on. Generally, it is green and white. There are positive and negative indicators.
