Power Designer experience

To some extent, any software that we take advantage of will add to our learning and life. This blog will talk about how I feel when using Power Designer.

Network explanation:

PowerDesigner is a Case tool set of Sysbase. It can be used to conveniently analyze and design the management information system. It covers almost the whole process of database model design. Using Power Designer, you can create data flowcharts, conceptual data models, and physical data models. You can also create structural models for data warehouses and control team design models. He can work with many popular software development tools, such as PowerBuilder, Delphi, and VB, to shorten the development time and optimize the system design.

Power Designer is a powerful software that can be used for database design. It is a common database modeling tool for developers. You can design a database at two levels: Conceptual Data Model and physical data model. Here, the data model describes the entity definition and object relationship definition of the database management system. The physical data model is specific to the target data management system based on the conceptual data model.

 

Practice test:

The meaning of the network paves the way for us to understand the theory and the general usefulness of the network. Then we should accept the practical test. The use of Power Designer was initially met in the projects of the kind community. At that time, we only browsed the design drawings drawn by yahongjie as a visitor to facilitate our later project development.

 

The second contact was at the time of cooperative development. At that time, I served as the group leader. Naturally, all the drawing work would naturally fall on the head of the group leader. So in my second contact, I drew a picture from the gourd tree and designed a data model jointly developed by our data center charging system according to the diagram of the Asian red. To be honest, the second basic is to eliminate my strangeness.

 

The third contact is in the learning process of the DRP system. The first 30 sets of DRP videos are all about System Analysis and Design. Naturally, the use of Power Designer is indispensable. I learned more about this tool with Teacher Wang Yong:

 

Figure 1: Using PowerDesigner to draw a general Table, you can also set the primary and Foreign keys in the Table, but note that you need to draw a line before modifying the field name (after drawing the foreign key line, the field will be automatically added for you, but the field name often does not meet the requirements and needs to be changed ).

Figure 4: After drawing all the images, use the tool> Check Model function to Check whether the image you have drawn is incorrect, if there is a mistake, you can use its own error correction function to help you correct the error. Of course, you can also manually correct the error yourself. When the check is correct, you can run scripts everywhere.

The above images show several features that are commonly used in the design of the DRP system. It's not hard. It's just that practice makes perfect.

In the early stage of analysis and design of DRP, we also need to understand the database design concept of Mr. Wang Yong, for example, his data dictionary table and primary key maintenance table.

When learning about CS and BS, we only list some fields, and did not consider how to design database tables better. We just need to design them well. However, it has not been considered for its later maintenance and efficiency.

Table 1: Data dictionary table:

Comment of the Category field: Here, A, B, C, and D of different meanings are put into A field "category. This is far better than creating fields for these four meanings. You can also consider its specific advantages.

Table 2: Primary Key maintenance table: This table is used to maintain the primary and Foreign keys. Note: not all primary and Foreign keys need to be maintained in this table.
