PowerPoint2007 to open a Word document as a new presentation
In addition to importing slides from a Word document or other text-based document (as described in the previous section), you can also open a Word document directly in PowerPoint. PowerPoint opens a new presentation file to accommodate the imported text. This can save you time if you are creating a new presentation and there are no existing slides to merge with the incoming content.
To open a Word document in PowerPoint, follow these steps:
1. Select "Office Button" ~ "Open". The Open dialog box appears.
2. Change the file type to "all outlines".
3. Select the document.
4. Click Open. The document outline is converted into a PowerPoint presentation, and all Heading 1 paragraphs are converted to title slides.
Warning: If a word outline is currently open in Word, you cannot open or insert the outline in PowerPoint. This restriction applies only to Word files, does not contain plain text, or
Other, format.
