Problems encountered during MySQL 5.6 deployment under RedHat 6/CentOS 6
1. Check whether the old mysql version has been installed. Run the following command: rpm-qa | grep mysql
2. delete an existing mysql instance and run the following command yum-y remove mysql-xxx.
3. I use a package that can be decompressed like mysql-5.6.14-linux-glibc2.5-x86_64.tar. It is too cumbersome to compile the package. Therefore, extract the package to the/usr/local/mysql directory.
4. mysql5.6 and earlier versions have some changes. There are not so many configuration templates in the support-files folder, and the configuration files of mysql 5.0/5.1 cannot be copied directly, support-files/my. cnf or support-files/my-new.cnf to/etc/my. cnf. Otherwise, a lot of data such as/usr/sbin/mysqld will be reported when mysql is started: unknown option '-- skip-locking' or Starting MySQL ............ the server quit without updating PID file (/var/lib/mysql/XXX. pid ). such an error
5 In mysql5.1, you can add the user insert into User (Host, user, Password) values ("localhost", "xxx", PASSWORD ("123456 "));, but it does not seem to work in 5.6. It will report: Field 'ssl _ cipher 'doesn' t have a default value.
You can only create a user using create user xxx, and then use update user set password = password ('000000') where user = 'xx ';
6. mysql 5.6 my. cnf no longer recognizes configurations such as default-character-set = utf8'. To set the encoding in a unified manner, you only need to set the encoding in/etc/my. add character_set_server = utf8 and character_set_client = utf8 under [mysqld] of cnf.
