Few women can resist the charm of jewelry, and pearls with its crystal and elegant won the popular love. There's no such thing as pearls, from a nine-year-old girl to a 90-year-old woman, she can see the light in her dress. 1. Create a new document, select the Ellipse tool in the toolbar, and select "Creating a fresh shape layer" on the toolbar. Open the Information Panel, hold down the SHIFT key, drag a positive circle on the screen, while dragging the mouse, pay attention to the observation information Panel and see that the circle is 24 pixels long and wide, relaxing the mouse. In this way, a small circle with a previous view of a fill color appears on the canvas, and a layer named "Shape 1" appears on the Layers panel. Here, the foreground color and our final result can be said to have not much relationship, so don't bother.

If you're not used to this layer clipping path, you can also use the old method: Create a new layer, because we want to use the layer style to achieve this effect, so the new layer is certainly not less. Use the elliptical marquee tool to draw a 24x24-pixel circle, with the same method as above, to remove the selection after filling the color. (Figure 01)

This is the first day you will be able to complete the work of Photoshop. But can you imagine? This is the ordinary small circle will be in your hands into a crystal moist pearl! And this is all the magic of the layer style, with no other tools or filters at all! Isn't it incredible? Let's take a step by step to uncover this mystery.

Modify the mapping curve, deselect the anti-aliasing option, and maintain the default high and darkened colors and modes, but change the opacity to 90% and 50% respectively (Figure 05).

Click on the Contour panel, click on the High Line, show the Contour editor, and set the waterline curve to resemble the figure 06, you can select "Record" in the contour type, and then change it slightly.

The contour function is very obvious, it gives the pearl the strong reflection function, simultaneously, the Pearl's mellow also is very good expression. (Figure 07)

After applying the emboss and contour, the image has a great relationship with your background. If you start with a dark fill, so now your image does not look like a pearl, but like a metal ball, the deeper the background, the more obvious the metal effect; If you use a light-colored fill, your image may look close to our purpose, and if it starts with white, So you've almost got a perfect white pearl. If you want to change the color, just double-click the layer thumbnail,

Eject the Photoshop color picker, where you can choose to change the colors of the layer. The following procedure is set for those colors that are too deep. (Figure 08)

5. The General light-colored Pearl has a special pearl luster, crystal and soft, dark pearl will have a metallic luster, but still without losing the soft color, so we use color overlay to eliminate excessive color. Select the color overlay style, set the blending mode to bright, color white, and opacity to 52% (Figure 09).

The color overlay effect is especially noticeable for dark pearls. Because of the different mineral elements in seawater, pearls can have many colors. If you want to get some colored pearls, you can get them here, with milk yellow, lilac, pink, rose, bronze, dark blue, and black, as you would like to see (Figure 10). But to get the best pearls, there are some tasks that need to be done.

6. People who like pearls know that a light pearl with a white rose-red pearl is the best, below we will make this pearl. Select the gradient overlay style, and by default, the results may be somewhat discouraging--something like a small steel ball (Figure 11).

But do not worry, we can use another layer style for it to find the luster, by the way, that is the "gloss" style. Select "Overlay" in the mix mode of the structure, RGB (225,159,159), opacity 72%, angle 135, distance 8 pixels, size 9 pixels, select "cone-invert" in the contour style, select anti-aliasing option. In this way, we will be able to show the pearl surface through the reflection of refraction and interference mixing action, the resulting Halo color. (Figure 12)

So far, our pearl style is all done. You can click the New Style button in the style panel to save it and name it "Pearl." It is best to use the preset manager for permanent storage so that you don't have to worry about losing it because you're reloading Photoshop.

Now let's examine the effect. Create a new layer, click the style you just saved, and apply this style to this layer. Select the Airbrush tool, set the brush size to 24, hardness set to 100, try to spray on the canvas, a string of pearls appear. Photoshop will redistribute the styles within the layer so that our pearls will transition from light to dark. To draw a pearl necklace, you also need to increase the brush spacing, in the example below the brush spacing is 107%, plus a chain, you can. If you feel monotonous, use the dark blue as the background, plus some noise and blur effect, imitation velvet substrate, so that the pearl foil more streamer color. (Figure Pearl)

What if you want a bigger or smaller pearl? When the brush is reduced or enlarged, it is plotted on a set-style layer, but the pattern is distorted and the pearls become unrecognizable. (Figure 13).

Can we only make pearls of a single diameter? Of course not. Photoshop provides a way for us to apply layer styles flexibly. On the layers panel, right-click the icon that indicates the layer effect and choose zoom Effect from the pop-up menu (Figure 14).

In Figure 13, the small brush has a diameter of 12 pixels, so we set the zoom to 50% (Figure 15) so that the layer style fits perfectly with the image. Similarly, the larger brush diameter is 48 pixels, and the zoom value is set to 200%. In this way, you can get a dadong bead (Fig. 16).
