Looking for inspiration
China's traditional patterns have a lot to learn from the place, so we from the traditional patterns of pictures to find creative inspiration.
These patterns are relatively complex and we can simplify them a little while creating them. You can also draw sketches on white paper or draw your own ideas directly from a hand-drawn board.
A combination of textures
Before we begin to draw the pattern, we have to make a general plan for the finished product, that is, reverse inference. This sounds to be the link of detective stories, in fact, in the design is also essential. You can first conceive an ideal effect in your brain, and then push back on the effect.
I usually simplify the whole design process to the three big links of "composition", "Detail processing" and "final effect". The "Composition" section includes the overall layout style of the choice of performance, details of the processing includes the color, font design, typesetting, etc., and the final effect includes the final detail adjustment. These three links are a ring close to one ring after another, but you can also use the first by imagining the final effect, then the composition and details of the processing order.
In this case, for example, my final effect texture is such a simple idea. The texture is composed of three patterns of small and medium size respectively. Their composition in a single texture is like this.
With a general composition, we can begin to draw the pattern.
Drawing of small patterns
Let's draw the smallest pattern first. Open PS and create a new 250*250px document. Open the ruler of the document and use the Guide to position it to the center. Then set the foreground color to purple and fill the purple background. As shown in the following figure.
A circle is drawn with the Ellipse tool, centered on the center point position. This circle remains filled with none, the line is 1px and the line color is white.
There are many small circles in the center of this circle, which are surrounded by one as a flower, and are grouped into a simple pattern. This is also the simplest flower type, taken from the lotus flower heart creative.
Then draw two long oval shapes and make them cross. Put on the top of the graph just now, make it overlap, so that the pattern is fuller.
Using the Polygon tool, set the number of edges to be 3, put it above, and then copy the triangle, vertically and symmetrically placed underneath. After the two triangles are copied, then rotated 30 degrees, depending on how many times the process of copying the rotation, you can get a pattern around the triangle.
Using the direct Selection tool, select one of the triangles ' anchor points and align each anchor point to the pixel grid. The goal is to keep the graphics fine and make use of pixel grids a good choice. The pixel grid appears when you zoom in to see pixels, and if not, check the View > Show > Pixel grid to open it. In this way, all the triangles ' anchor points are aligned with the pixel grid.
This is the size of the zoom to 100% appearance
After our little pattern is finished, we can make the above layer a group and hide it.
