Citrix Provisioning Services uses streaming technology to bring a single standard desktop image, including operating systems and software, to physical virtual desktops on demand across the network. On the one hand to achieve the same type of machine single image management, on the other hand, for the three-dimensional graphics requirements of the environment, in addition to the hard disk, memory, CPU, GPU calls the local computing resources, so performance basic and traditional desktop no difference. Provisioning Services works with Citrix XenDesktop, and with the XenDesktop Setup Wizard, you can combine templates with desktop virtual machines to create a customized number of desktops, making it easy to deploy and manage on a large scale.

2 Installing the PVS console

4 Capturing the image

Here we have deployed a Windows 7 virtual machine for mirroring use.

4.1 Current Equipment Installation

Select Target device installation

4.2 Boot Image Wizard

Select an existing virtual disk (created in the previous section)

To configure an image volume

Confirm that the information is correct and click Finish, the program will restart the system, note: You need to set up the device before booting from the network

4.3 Mirror Crawl completed

Log in with the same account after reboot, Xenconvert will run automatically, perform formatting, mirror crawl and other work

Depending on the speed of the storage and network, the system is closed and the completion time is different.

5. Test new PVS diskless devices

s5.1 Creating a diskless virtual machine

Open Xencenter, connect to XenServer, and select Create Windows 7 64-bit system.

Enter a name

Select Boot from Network

Select Server

Set Vcpus and memory

Do not create a disk

Set up a network

Select Automatically start virtual machine after creation

5.2 Test diskless virtual machines

The virtual machine is booted over the network and the PVS server has been found

Enter the system.

The diskless virtual machine started successfully.
