Let's give you a detailed analysis on how to quickly design a business card.
Tutorial sharing:
Figure 1 This article describes how to use simple tools to quickly create these beautiful business cards in ILLUSTRATOR CS
When you use a multi-functional paint brush and mask, you can create a cool business card. In this article, we will show you how to design a business card by adjusting the size and distance of the paint brush, and then cutting the mask. At the same time, you can also understand the full bleeding position settings when designing a business card.
1. All these BUSINESS cards are created by the business card 2 BLANK template in ILLUSTRATOR. First, open the Template, File> New from Template> Blank Templates> Business Card 2_Blank. ait: After opening the template, we also need to apply various Scatter brushes. Choose window> Paint Library> Decorative_Scatter to open the samples of the library. All the brushes we use in this article are made using the paint samples in this panel.
When you open the paint brush library, these brushes are arranged by their respective attributes and names. You can select the thumbnail view mode to view the paint brush, which is more intuitive. See Figure 2.

2. When we click a style in the above paint brush Library, the selected paint brush icon is displayed on the "paint brush" panel. A scatter brush can be applied to objects created by a brush, pencil, pen, or line segment tool. First, draw a straight line, and then click the paint brush sample we want to apply in the Scatte paint brush library to apply the paint brush to the line segment, as shown in figure 3.
Figure 3 Effect of scatter paint on straight lines
You can change the size, distance, dispersion, and rotation of a single element. After selecting a line segment and double-clicking the style displayed on the "paint brush" panel, a dialog box is displayed, which allows you to adjust these elements. After the adjustment, we will confirm the application.
Figure 4 double-click the style on the panel to adjust these elements.
3. Add other elements. We can add the required text and a home icon. The icon is also from the software (window> symbol Library> Web Icons ). To make these elements more appealing, we can add shadows.
Figure 5 add other elements, including text and icons.
4. Apply the masking tool. First, select the rectangle tool to draw a rectangle as the mask, the size is the same as the business card template. Then it overlaps with the area of the template, and the fill and stroke options are none. Select all the objects, apply the object to the bucket, and create the bucket. In this case, we only see the objects in the rectangle. In order to make the printing have a bleeding position, we can select the object after cutting, and then zoom around, so that each side is larger than the original 10 pt.
Figure 6 note that we need to leave a bleeding position.
So far, a beautiful business card is complete. Is it easy?
Let's design a few more, hoping to inspire you more:
The elements in most scattered brushes are composed of basic elements. We can use these basic elements as a cropping mask and apply them to some simple images.
1. First, open the Decorative Scatter brush in the paint brush Library, select the paint brush as shown in the following figure, and pull it to the window. Then, the group is dissolved two times in a row (object> disband group ).
Figure 7: pull the paint brush to the file
We increase this pattern proportionally, and then fill the square in the middle and choose none (see the figure below ).
Figure 8. After disband an object, fill in the middle element and select none
2. Select an image to be applied. Because the available location is small, we need to select images without too many details. We arranged the photo to the end and put the main elements of the image in the area of the square we just placed.
Figure 9 place an image we want to use.
3. In this case, the application selection tool selects the image and the cropping area above at the same time, and then applies "object> cropping Board> creation" to make the entire design more harmonious, we adjusted the surrounding color.
Figure 10 adds text, and another beautiful business card comes out again.
We can also create an impact background by simply copying and using a paint brush. We also select a cube paint brush in the paint box, and then move it to the window to create the following background image by copying, rotating, and changing the color.
Figure 11 create another background by copying and adjusting
Then we applied the cropping mask and selected a region in the background. After adding the text, the third business card was made soon.

Add special effects:
1. We use the pen tool to draw a line, and then apply the scattered brush (in this article we choose the circle cross-shaped brush) to apply the online bar. Double-click the paint brush on the graphic style to bring up the setting parameter box. Select the View mode and adjust the interval between circles to make the circles ready for contact.
Figure 13 select another paint brush and adjust it to the right
2. Then we choose to adjust the three circles of the distance and apply "effect> pixel> Point". In this article, we use the default settings.
After applying the point effect, we reduced the opacity to make the entire effect more flexible. We also use the same method to handle the background. Make the effect more interesting.
Figure 14 using some simple special effects, the fourth business card is complete.
When printing a business card, we can fill the card in a page, pay special attention to the surrounding bleeding space to prevent white edges when cutting paper:
All right, the above information is the detailed and quick design of the business card production tutorial for all the users of this software of Illustrator, as you can see here, I believe that everyone is very clear about the quick production method, so you can try the results by yourself according to the tutorial.
