Recreate FIFA2002 World Cup logo with Photoshop

We are going to practice the tracing and combination of paths in Photoshop 6 or 7 by using the logo of the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup. First go to the Internet to find a World Cup logo (see figure 1), although the size is a bit small, but as a path to describe the reference is enough.

Open the monogram image in Photoshop and enlarge the view appropriately. Let's start with a big, small, two-circle in the middle. Use the Oval depiction tool to draw four positive circular path paths with the SHIFT key (Figure 2). To facilitate the viewing path, the brightness (+) and contrast (-) of the image are adjusted:

The next step is to make a calculation combination of the paths to get the desired shape. Use path Selection tools (path selection tool) with shift to select two circles at the same time, press the taskbar "Combine" button on Photoshop to combine them into one whole.

Select the combination path and the larger one in the two small circles at the same time, confirming that the taskbar is combined as shown, by pressing the "Combine" button to get the shape we need (Figure 3).

Finally, the small circle and the contour path are combined as a whole, and the path panel is named Fifa01.

Observe the structure of the monogram image, and then describe the middle branching section. Of course, use the Pen tool. Note that you should try to use fewer nodes to adjust the curvature repeatedly to achieve. The part that is connected with the outer ring should be less than one point (the process is slightly).

Use path Selection tools (path Selection tool) to select it, confirm the combination of the way, press SHIFT to select the previous shape, the same way to set the combination, press "Combine" to combine them:

Draw the remaining ARC path (closed), using the same method to bind it to the body shape:

At this point, the interior shapes are basically drawn. Use the Oval Path tool to draw a circular path in the outer circle:

Use the Path selection tool to select it →ctrl+c copy → create a new path in the path panel (named P_TMP1) →ctrl + v Paste as a backup. Use the same method to copy the middle shape to a named P_TMP2 backup. Go back to the FIFA01 path use path Selection tools to select the outer ring path, set the binding by selecting the Inner shape settings to be combined, and then selecting them simultaneously by pressing "Combine". The results are as follows (cutting off the extra parts of the tip):

Select the P_TMP1 path, draw a smaller circle, and group the two circles together:

Select P_TMP1 in the Path panel and select it with the path selection tool → copy → to p_tmp2 paste:

Select the big outer ring concentric circle with the path selection tool, set the combination mode as the mode, select the internal shape to set the combined mode and select them by the "Combine" button combination, the result is as follows:

Use the Hollow Arrow tool (Direct Selection tools) to select unwanted parts (upper and lower right of the outer ring and small circles in the middle) to remove them:

Select the remaining parts of the box to copy and paste into the FIFA01 path:

This work is basically done, the red triangle below the graph can:

1, with direct Selection tools to select the vertices above the triangle:

2, copy → new path → paste:

3. Click one endpoint with Pen tool and click another to close the path:

4. Use direct Selection tools to adjust curvature:

Copy/paste the path to the FIFA01 path, the entire World Cup logo path production complete:
