Two days ago, I watched a program of two sets of CCTV entrepreneurs, which described the entrepreneurial history of a number of Sichuan University students. Some of the students started their business before graduation, but due to lack of market operation ability, so the business has been unable to do; some have been insisting on entrepreneurship since graduation, and after some hardships, the business has gradually improved.

I have also had my own entrepreneurial experience. Although it cannot be regarded as a failure, it is still not successful. However, I think it is very correct to give up my entrepreneurial career and choose to enter the consulting industry, whether or not you will start a business in the future, I think the accumulation is very helpful for the future.

 

Due to the current employment situation, I can always hear a variety of media, including television, newspapers, magazines, and the Internet, all of which encourage college students to "start a job rather than start a business", but I want to say, for most people: entrepreneurship is not as good as employment.

 

I. Entrepreneurship requires entrepreneurial ability

 

Entrepreneurship, as the name suggests, is to create a career. It is easy to say, but it is very difficult. Entrepreneurship requires good projects, funds, customers, and effective business strategies and methods. All these are called resources to obtain these resources, and the good use of these resources depends on the entrepreneurial ability. Further speaking, it is actually the ability to operate an enterprise.

 

I believe that the capabilities required by entrepreneurs to operate an enterprise, including strategic, business, and management capabilities, are indispensable.

 

As a boss, to successfully operate an enterprise, you must first have strategic capabilities to identify the direction in which the enterprise operates. This direction must have market potential, while identifying the direction, you need insights, decision-making, and leadership (I mentioned in "how to choose a boss ). Second, you need to have business capabilities, that is, "the ability to do things", because in the initial stage of entrepreneurship, many things have to rely on yourself: marketing, sales, and even production, therefore, you must have business capabilities in all aspects, and you must be able to stand alone in many aspects. Management capability is the ability to organize a team to help you do things. When your company develops, many things cannot be done by yourself. At this time, you need to hire employees, therefore, you need to have management capabilities so that you can organize your employees to work hard and help you gain more business.

 

Therefore, it is difficult to start a business. These capabilities are not what a college student just entered the society can possess. At present, many college students, or people with only two or three years of work experience, cannot start a business because they do not have the ability to start a business at all: the entrepreneurial direction he chooses may not have many market opportunities; or even if he finds a potential direction, but is not good at operating, does not do business, does not know how to manage, and eventually leads to a failure.

 

When I started my business, I chose a good direction because I was doing professional consulting in emerging industries. I also developed some business capabilities and opened up some markets through my efforts, however, at that time, I felt very difficult to succeed. I think the main reason is that my entrepreneurial ability is far from enough. I still don't know how to build a good business model, and I have not mastered professional consulting methods, no effective operation procedures will be established.

 

2. Entrepreneurial ability, starting from professional ability

 

Of course, entrepreneurial abilities can be cultivated, and no one is born to be a boss. The best way to cultivate is to enter related fields, learn from others how to start a business and develop their own abilities. This kind of ability is vocational ability. In my opinion, the specific process is to first turn into "professional players" and then "professional players ".

 

A major or a profession is not a concept. A major mainly refers to the ability of "Business". It generally refers to the knowledge and skills related to your profession, which must be upgraded to a vocational level, in addition to professional competence, professional appearance, professional attitude, professional consciousness, and professional quality are also required. That is to say, the potential part of your competence must meet the conditions, become a professional person.

 

For example, if you want to become a distributor and act as an agent for a product, you must first learn how to sell things, that is, to sell things. You must first become a "sales specialist", learn sales strategies and methods, learn how to sell products to customers, and learn how to sign orders with customers. This is a professional process. Next, you also need to have market awareness, market sensitivity, negotiation, communication, and communication skills, and even become a "wine table expert" or "song altar expert". This process is professional, you need to turn yourself into a professional, from a "sales specialist" to a "Sales Manager ".

 

The reason why I entered the consulting industry is to grasp the professional competence of the consulting industry, and then turn it into a professional consultant, so that I can master the operation mode of the consulting industry, let yourself have the professional qualities and Professional Consciousness required by the professional consultant.

 

3. To become a boss, you must have the feeling of the boss"

 

After you have learned how to operate your business, how to obtain orders, and how to manage your team, start your business.

 

However, to turn professional competence into entrepreneurial competence, we still need to go through a difficult training. We can refer to this kind of training as "transformation ". Because you work for others, you only need to worry about doing the current thing well. When you are a boss, you not only need to worry about how to do the current thing well, you have to worry about how to do well in the future. Therefore, to become a real boss, the most important thing is to use your abilities comprehensively.

 

When you work for others, as you are at a higher level in the enterprise, your capabilities are also increasing, but your capabilities are still limited, because you have been in a field. Therefore, although you already have strong strategic capabilities in your field and even exceed your boss, you also have strong business capabilities, and most of the company's business may be undertaken by you; at the same time, you have strong management capabilities. You can bring out a strong team, but you find that you are not as good as your boss. Why? I think the main reason is that you haven't found a feeling-the feeling of the boss.

 

This kind of boss's feeling is like a compass, which can guide you to always do the right thing at the right time. It can help you find the people you need, it allows you to find your customers. In short, a successful boss needs this feeling. If you want me to clearly understand what this feeling is, I can only tell you that it is your ability to make full use of these three capabilities, including strategy, business, and management, in fact, it can be said that it is a kind of potential, a kind of understanding, I call it "The ability to exert the ability", this kind of ability, only after you have accumulated a certain amount of, can slowly gain and enhance.

 

Therefore, the boss is not so easy to be. To become a successful boss, you must first find this feeling.

 

I am still in the process of cultivating my professional competence. As to whether I will find my "feeling of the boss" in the future, I have to think about it after my professional competence reaches a certain level!
