Responsibilities and roles of website planning
Website planning is a kind of independent position in China in the last two years. According to my observation, there was a title like this from 2004. By 2006, such job information can be seen on all major recruitment websites. But what is website planning? What kind of person can be used for website planning? What are the functions of website planning? These issues remain unresolved.
As my personal work experience, I have explained some questions about website planning.
What is website planning?
Website planning is a planner. The core of planning is the "website" product. For "website" products, I divide them into two categories by nature: self-developed website products and externally sold Website products. For example, some IT companies develop, design, operate, and promote websites independently, and make profits from the market operation of website Products. Such websites are called proprietary R & D website products; some IT companies provide external website construction services, or outsource website construction services. Such products are called external website products. Currently, most people on the Internet see the former type.
Website planning is divided into the following categories based on different product plans:
1) copywriting website planning: responsible for compiling website content, such as company profile and user agreement;
2) Editing website planning: in fact, it is Website Editing. During website construction, it participates in website planning, but its common responsibilities are Website Editing and maintenance;
3) planning website planning: this type of website planning is mainly responsible for the overall planning of new products, including content construction, website layout, and website structure, its functional and personal qualities must be higher than those of the first two;
4) Project Management Planning: this type of website planning has some IT project management experience, and has used a lot of IT project management modes and experience in website construction, through standardized and efficient collaborative management, we plan to build a "website" product. During product R & D, this type of planning needs to participate in the planning phase of each project management, and maintain communication with implementation personnel, such as programmers, designers, technicians, operators, marketing personnel, and business personnel. Such planning exists in some large Internet companies, however, the title may not be called planning.
I personally recommend that you develop in 4th planning directions, which should be the long-term direction of future website planning.
Responsibilities and roles of website planning
Website planning should be positioned as the business support organization or internal consulting organization of the company's project management. Its main responsibilities include:
(1) develop and maintain Web project management standards, methods, and programs;
(2) provide consulting and guidance on Web project management for the company;
(3) provide the company with Web project management training;
(4) provide other support for Web project management for the company.
