Wood Texture Research 3--actual combat "Stump"

Last time we finished the section of the stump, today we're going to do the trunk part. In fact, just make the texture of the bark and then give the texture a three-dimensional sense. Speaking is very simple, how difficult, please and I walk and learn. To observe the ancient bark, the color is usually darker, in addition to the longitudinal texture, there are often cracks in the phenomenon.

1. Create a new 512x512pixel,72dpi file, Contents=white. Sets the foreground color to black and the rear color to rgb=75,0,14.

2. Fill the file with the back color.

3. Choose Filter->texture->grain,grain type=vertical,intensity=14,contrast=31.

4. Choose Filter->distort->twirl,angle=50 degree.

5. Select Select->all, then select Edit->copy.

6. Open the Channel window, create a new channel named Alpha 1, select Edit->paste, and copy the image's grayscale map to the channel.

7. Use the shortcut key ctrl+l to open the level adjuster, adjusts the parameter to: 0:1.00:86, increases the channel contrast.

8. Back to the Layer window, select the background layer. Select filter->render->lighting effects, the specific parameter settings See Figure I. The longitudinal texture appears.

9. If you feel that the resulting results are too dim, you can use the level adjuster to brighten the image slightly.

10. New layer, select Filter->render->clouds, and then change the new layer mode to Color, this step gives more changes to the texture, and corrects the texture of the hue. The results are shown in Figure Ii.

Then we'll do the texture effect of the crack.

11. Open the Channel window, create a new channel named Alpha 2, select filter->texture->stained Glass, parameter: Cell Size =12,border thickness=4,light Intensity=0.

12. Copy Channel Alpha 2 and name the new copied channel Alpha 3.

13. Select Channel Alpha 3 and choose Filter->blur->gaussian blur,radius=3.0.

14. Ctrl-click the Alpha 2 channel within the channel channel to invoke the channel selection, press the shortcut key ctrl+shift+i, reverse the selection, and press the DEL key in the Alpha 3 Channel to clear the image in the selection.

15. Return to Layer window, select the background layer, choose filter->render->lighting effects, the specific parameters see figure three.

16. Select Layer->flatten image and combine the pictures. We get the texture of the bark and the final result is shown in Figure four. Well, so far, all the textures that this paradigm needs are already available, and in the next lesson, I'll turn the textures into solid objects and complete our tutorial.
