When the DDNS service is enabled, the resolution service between a fixed domain name and a dynamic IP address can be automatically implemented. For example, if the IP address of a Google website is 64.233.189.104, this domain name is easy to remember. When we access the Internet through ADSL, the IP addresses assigned each time are different, therefore, static IP addresses cannot be resolved directly, but dynamic IP addresses can be resolved to fixed domain names through some dynamic Domain Name Service websites. In this way, others can also enjoy the services (such as websites and FTP) provided by your computer through a fixed domain name ).
How to enable the DDNS dynamic Domain Name Service of a Broadband Router
First, enter the IP address of the Broadband Router in the browser to enter the configuration menu, select "dynamic domain name" in "advanced", and then select your own registered service provider in the DDNS service on the right bar, for example, "Cn99" (if you have not registered with this website, you can click the "website" button after this option to open the website, click "New User Registration" on the homepage to register the domain name. Then, enter the registered user name, password, and domain name in the "DDNS data" column, and click "save ". After the website service is configured, others can access your website through this domain name.
VPNPass-through
In order to obtain the latest company data in a timely manner, many companies in other regions need to use the Internet to access the internal servers of the headquarters to obtain data, in this case, the "VPNPass-through" function in the Broadband Router is needed. To learn about VPNPass-through, you must first know what Virtual Private Network is. It does not have a dedicated Network physical connection, but uses a public Network (such as the Internet) to establish a temporary, secure, and simulated point-to-point connection, we can also call it a "network in the network" (a bit of a TV picture ).
Many organizations or individuals use Broadband Router sharing, to establish a VPN, the Broadband Router needs to have the VPNPass-through function (the function of passing VPN data packets is called VPNPass-through). This function supports configuring the VPN of the client and receiving feedback packets, with the support of this function, other computers in the network can establish virtual connections with external VPN servers. There is also a VPNServer Broadband Router (which supports dial-in) on the market. How the client establishes a virtual connection
To establish a virtual connection with an existing VPNServer at the headquarters of the company, you must first enable the VPN function of the Broadband Router. I will take the CIDR wide IP806SM Broadband Router as an example. Log on to the Management page of the Broadband Router. Find "security" in "Administrator" and select "allow VPN to pass" in the right column ".
Then, set it on the client for virtual connection. In Windows XP, you can set the parameters as follows: "Control Panel> network connection", and click "Create a new connection ", then, select "network connected to my workplace" and "virtual network dedicated connection", and enter the name and Host IP address (including domain name) as prompted ), click "finish". In the displayed window, enter the account and password provided by the VPN Server, and click "Connect. If the connection is established for the first time, the system requires the user to enter the phone number of the region. This prompt is not displayed if other connections (such as connections connected to the Internet through ADSL) have been established before the VPN connection is established. After the connection, you can access the shared resources by entering the server name or server address in the address bar of the browser.
