Small discussion: Solution for failure to activate the Share Point Publishing Feature in Site Collection
Sometimes, when using a feature of SharePoint, we need to Activate some feature to implement it. For example, Navigation requires ActivatePublishing feature, but when Activate this feature, some errors may occur, such:
Problem description: After the SharePoint Publishing Infrastructurefeature in SiteCollection feature is activated successfully, activating SharePoint Publishing in site feature fails. the following error occurs: sorry, something went wrong.
Problem Analysis: some functions are not activated successfully when the Site Collection-level Publishing feature is activated. The displayed status may be an illusion.
Solution: You can use the SharePoint Manager Tool to find PublishingInfrastructure Feature under the Site Collection feature to deactivate, and then use the tool to reactivate publishingfeature at the site collection and site level to solve the above problem.
Procedure:
Open SharePoint Manager 2013 and find the Feature of the specific Site Collection> Root Site, as shown in:
Expand Site Collection-> Root Site Feature, find SharePoint Server Publishing Feature, and click Deactivate.
Expand Site Collection-> Feature, find SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure Feature, and click Deactivate.
Then Activate the two Feature values in order on the Site Collection Setting page to solve the problem.
