Some problems that may occur when cropping layers In ArcMap

1. During cropping, make sure that the data of the layers to be cropped has a public part. Sometimes, the data In ArcMap shows a public part. But in fact, due to coordinate system, they are not in the same way. If there are no public parts between several layers, an error will be reported. Check them.

Possible error: Error 000953: Extent of the overlay operation will be empty.

Solution: Change the coordinates or projection of the layers to ensure that they have public parts and then start cropping.

 

2. Crop several layers, especially when there is a grid layer, pay attention to save the file naming format. If the naming format is incorrect, some errors will be reported.

Solution: Check whether the file name contains invalid characters in the error message and modify it.

 

Possible error: Error 010240: cocould not save raster dataset to C:/users/paulc/Local Settings/g_g_g63 with output format grid.

Failed to execute (reclassify ).

Solution: This is probably because the current default workspace is placed in the temp folder of the system, and the folder name contains spaces, in most cases, you can change the current workspace to avoid this error. Open a tool in arctoolbox. In enviroments at the bottom, set current workspace to a valid path in general settings, and then perform the cropping operation.
