2011.11.10 (system installation)
Previously, I encountered a problem when installing rhel5.2 in my notebook. At that time, I remember that I entered boot: Linux noapic ACPI = off on the installation interface (there may be other issues.
However, when I installed it on the company's xinniu x computer today, I encountered various problems. I have installed it for the time being. I will discuss other problems later.
PS: I am a cainiao. If you have any questions, please kindly advise. Thank you very much.
First, ISO:
Redhat Enterprise Linux 5.2
Ftp://openware.byr.edu.cn/pub/os-images/Redhat/RHEL5.2/rhel-5.2-server-i386-dvd.iso
Serial number:
550dd56b51499bd5
Problems encountered during installation:
1A. When the CD installation prompt arrives
/Sbin/loader appears
Kernel panic Error
You need to restart the BIOS to disable the NIC and then reinstall it.
1b. In another case, enter
Boot: Linux noapic ACPI = off can also be solved
But the installation error is missing.
2. If the preceding steps are skipped
No driver found Problem
The reason may be that the current hard drive is too new, rhel5.2 does not know
In this case, you need to restart and enter
Boot: Linux all-generic-ide irqpoll
After the system is installed
Red Hat Nash version 5.1.19.6 starting
Mount: cocould not find filesystem '/dev/root'
Setuproot: Moving/dev failed. No such file or directory
...
Forget whether it is the same as no driver found above.
This may be because RHEL is installed after the hard disk is GB, and the kernel and required driver cannot be loaded when the system is started.
In this case, add the following in GRUB:
Boot: Linux all-generic-ide irqpoll
Disable IRQ
After that, I finally saw the familiar installation interface...
After the installation is complete, the kernel panic error occurs every time you enter rhel5.2.
The solution is to change the grub option, press "E", add the all-generic-ide irqpoll option after the second line, and press "B" to start
But you still don't know how to save it. You have to edit it again every time...
2011.11.14 (install the video card and NIC Driver)
After the system is installed, install the video card and NIC Driver. Download a Linux version from the nvdia official website.
The following describes how to install the NIC Driver. First, the Linux driver for Kernel 2.6.x and 2.4.x (Support x86 and x64) driver is installed on the RealTek official website.
The first problem encountered was that the NIC must be disabled in the BIOS at first, otherwise it cannot be started (as described above ). But I disabled the NIC here. How can I install the driver when I enter the system? How to access the Internet ?!! (In fact, even if the NIC is disabled, the driver should be successfully installed !)
No way. Disable the NIC before entering the system.
After entering the system, try to install the r8168 driver first, but when running the script Autorun. when sh arrives at modprobe $ module (module = "r8168"), an error occurs. Print the error message fatal: module r8168 not found.
At this time, Baidu once, the original r8168 driver in centos and RHEL systems, there is a problem with the installation, the reason is that centos and RHEL will r8168 error detection r8169 causes the NIC to fail to enable.
When an error occurs while running the script Autorun. Sh, you must add alias eth0 r8168 in/etc/modprobe. conf.
Then, run the ethtool-I eth0 command to view the driver information of eth0. Restart the instance.
After the restart, RHEL correctly loads the r8168 driver and sets parameters such as IP/DNS.
After entering the system, use the neat command to reset the fixed IP address, and finally get online...
2011.11.15 (install the sound card driver)
Today, we found that the default sound card of rhel5.2 is unavailable and the sound card driver must be installed.
The RealTek official website downloads the high definition audio codecs (software) driver.
If an error occurs during the installation process using the self-contained installscript, follow the steps in readme.txt to manually install the script,
It is found that a compilation error occurs during make: the bool type is redefined.
Comment out the definitions of bool, true, and false in the source file with compilation errors, re-make, then make install, and restart. The sound card is installed.
The sound card cannot be used after it is installed (the execution of aplay *. wav fails), and The groupadd audio command must be executed under the root user.
Now aplay *. wav can play the sound.
However, there is still a problem with the program compiled by myself. It is not resolved yet, and you can add it later.
