Recently, I made a joke and continued to play the learning AVR (mage8) microcontroller. I am still so familiar with it. However, this time it was a little difficult, and it was not suitable for the first time. The program cannot be downloaded !!!! Of course, the biggest reason is the download tool. If you are not using the usb isp download tool, it may be different from mine.

Of course, it is not here to blame those who developed usb isp. I admire them faithfully, their technology and their open source spirit, that's why I had to create an AVR downloader myself before that. Now, let's talk about my experiences:

First, I connected the download tool to prepare the program after welding the board, but "chip enable program error" always appeared. The same problem also occurred when I changed the download tool, which is strange. Many people also encounter the same problem when searching on the internet, but they have not solved the problem by looking at other people's methods. Finally, I thought of another download tool (downloaded through AVR studio). The download tool is more stable and can be downloaded in a moment. Finally, I got it done. The reason for the problem was found that the fuse was unstable when the usb isp download device was used. Sometimes it was unsuccessful to use the download tool and related software to burn and write the fuse, this can easily cause the chip to be "decommissioned ". I did not test the firmware of each version of usb isp and the host computer program, so I am not sure this is the reason. If you encounter this problem, one method is to use other download methods to burn the fuse or download program. If the computer has a parallel port, you can use the parallel port for download, which is more convenient. Of course, if you have burned the fuse, it is normal to use the usb isp to download the program.

Next, let's talk about how the chips that have been burned out can be "saved". This is my personal experience and is not necessarily suitable for all chips. In the previous burning and writing process, two chips were "decommissioned". Of course, the main reason was the fuse burning and writing error, an external oscillator is required when the chip is working (if an active crystal oscillator is available, it is also possible to re-burn the fuse), because the current use of an external crystal oscillator, therefore, the chip cannot generate a "heartbeat. My approach is to use another working board to connect the first pin of the crystal oscillator to the same pin of the decommission chip through a jumper (providing the clock function ). After the connection, power on the normal Board and then use the download device to burn the fuse for the decommission chip. Haha, It will be successful in an instant !!!
