How to read a book refers to the art of reading a good book.To better understand a certain type of problem,It is to improve your understanding of books, rather than just getting information or entertainment. (This method is required only for a few classic classics)

1. The most important thing for a good reading method is:Actively read. The author believes that the true reading must be active. By virtue of his own mind and patience, he gradually and deeply understands the text from a superficial understanding, and eventually surpasses the original understanding, upgraded itself.

The core of active reading is to ask questions and answer questions through reading. The four questions that must be answered are: What does this book talk about? What does this book detail (information) and how does it (argument logic )? Does this book make sense? What does this book have to do with you ?.

2. Three Levels of reading. (There are four levels in the book: basic reading, view reading, analysis reading and topic reading. basic reading is mastered by everyone, so I only analyzed the last three levels.)Layers are progressive.

1: view the skimming. This level aims to help readers get to know about it in a short period of time (15 minutes). What is a book about? How is architecture? What does it cover ?. The specific method is: browse the title and preface, directory, index, postscript, publisher introduction, and various types of charts, and then flip the important chapters at will and read them at a glance, finally, let's briefly repeat it. It takes five minutes to draw a preliminary map! In this way, I have a general understanding of a book, activated the brain storage system, and helped to contact the existing knowledge to determine whether the book is worth reading? What do you want to learn from the book? Difficulty level? How long does it take to read?

2: analytical reading. This is the most important part to help readers chew and digest a book. Analytics is divided into three stages.

A)Find out what a book is talking about: classify the types and themes of the book, and express what the book is talking about in the shortest sentence (use your own understanding) list the outline of the book and find out the problems the author wants to solve.

B)Interpreting a book:

First, master the basic concepts in the book and reach consensus with the author. The evolution of keywords, main concepts, or principles in the book should be clear, and the links with different key points in theory should be clear and thorough. We can understand the historical evolution of concepts (the key to understanding any concept is not to read its "Definition", but to read its "History "), or read conflicting arguments at the same time (meaning reading many books ).

The second is to capture the author's important theme from the most important sentences.

The third is to grasp the author's argument logic and grasp the premise assumptions, theoretical support, internal logic, and inductive deduction of the author's argument. (A simple method is to read a chapter in the book, or even a section that can be independent in a chapter, it takes a little time to think about the relationship between the Section and the section, chapter and chapter, chapter and the topic of the book ).

The fourth is to determine which issues have been solved by the author and which issues have not been resolved.

C)Comment on a book: general rules (first look at comments, rational expressions of different opinions, comments should have a theoretical basis ); special criteria for criticism (the author's lack of knowledge, knowledge errors, non-logic, analysis and reasons are incomplete ).

3: Reading the topic. The author believes that this is the highest level of reading and the most complex and systematic reading. At this level, readers need to construct a topic that may not be mentioned in any book from many books. There are five steps: find relevant chapters, bring the author to reach a consensus with you, clarify the problem, define the issue, and analyze and discuss. I personally have an improvement method. When you want to study a problem and find some relevant books, the first step is to check and read all the books and remove unnecessary books, next, draw a brief Mind Map of other books, and then draw a comprehensive mind map based on the questions I have studied. Then, combine the views of relevant books into a map, finally, follow the five steps provided by the author. Finally, draw the final theme map based on the final understanding.
