Sybase basic framework
The sybase database consists of System databases, user databases, database devices, and auxiliary files.
1. System Database
Sybase database is a database management system with multiple database structures. It can be divided into system databases and user databases.
The system database is automatically created during installation, including the following content:
- Master Database: full control and management of user databases and all operations on sybase
- Temp Database: provides a storage area for temporary tables and other temporary workspace, which is public
- Model Database: provides a prototype for the new user database.
- Sybsystemproc Database: stored procedures of the Storage System
- Other System databases: audit database (sybsecurity), Sample Database (pubs2), and syntax database (sybsyntax)
2. The interfaces file is located in the $ sybase directory, and the interface file is equivalent to an address book. The file lists the names and IP addresses and port numbers of each known configured server. You can directly find the interfaces file to open, you can also open the [sybase \ OCS-15_0 \ bin1_directory dsedit.exe, such:
Functions of the interfaces file:
- Lists the network addresses of each server that can be connected in the interfaces file of the client.
- On the server side, each server is used for connection with other servers.
You can add one in the interfaces file. Alternatively, add a server in dsedit. ext, add the name of the previous server, and configure ip + port in server address.
Note: the format of server address values is ip and port. Separate IP addresses and port numbers with commas.
Sybase startup and shutdown 1. view the database startup status as sybase user login, use the [isql-u xx-p xx-s xx] command to log on. Enter showserver and go to check whether the database has been started.
