Problem: Some colleagues reported that the newly installed database using conn sys/Oracle @ XXXX as sysdba login not up, prompt ORA-01031: insufficient privileges, and the user name and password are completely correct, log on normally without the @ xxx connector Conn/As sysdba.
Process: first, identify that the current system uses operating system authentication, and then use system/manager @ xxxx to log on. This error is reported only when users with sysdba permission log on. Next grant sysdba to Scott; error, ORA-01994: grant failed: password file missing or disabled. Note that the password file is prompted. Search for the orapwsid file under $ ORACLE_HOME/DBS and find the file exists.
Cause: orapwdorcl is incorrect. It should be orapworcl. The instance name should be large-coded. The instance name entered during installation should be in lower case.
