MSF is based on a set of working models that are developed by Microsoft and its partners in the experience of successfully developing distributed computing and client server applications with customers.

In short, there are many goals to be achieved for a project, and the MSF Team Model enables different roles to achieve these goals, and at the end of a project, each role asks itself the question, do I meet my quality goals?

The MSF process model, developed from the traditional software development waterfall model and the Helix model, combines the milestone-based planning advantages of the waterfall model with the strengths of the incremental iterations in the Helix model.
