The core areas of downtown Shanghai include: Huangpu (Huangpu Nanshi District Luwan), Xuhui, Changning, Yangpu, Hongkou, Putuo, Jingan (formerly Jingan plus Zhabei) and the Pudong part of the original Nanshi District, Huangpu and Yangpu district of Pudong New Area (roughly the Huangpu River to Luo Shan Road, Longyang Road within the inner ring area of Pudong.
